A-ha play free Show and Premiere New tracks

Saturday night in their hometown of Norway A-ha played a Free Benefit show in front of an estimated crown of 125-150,000 people. During the 2 hour show A-ha played many rare album cuts, Hits, and Premiered 5 new tracks From their New Upcoming Cd called "ANALOGUES" which makes its release on November 7th, the first SIngle "CELICE" will be released as a single throughout Europe on October 4th, but already is Number in Norways Airplay chart. This show was a Warmup for A-ha's world tour starting on October 29th, taking them throughout all of Europe, the USA dates are still not decided, However A-ha make their USA return on September 12th at Irving Plaza in New York City, to play a warmup, intimate show in front of a Sold out crowd(54 minutes to be exact), I will be there front and Center since I have waited 20 years to see my favorite band for the first time in person LIVE.

Here is the news from their official site and Set List
A magical evening
a-ha in Frognerparken
Whenever a-ha plays in Norway, it tends to be some kind of event. Saturday's concert in Frognerparken was no exception: it was the largest concert ever held on Norwegian soil. Reports vary, but between 120,000 and 150,000 people came to see a-ha in Frognerparken, and the band did not disappoint - once again they proved why they are Norway's biggest pop stars. Norway's largest news paper called the concert a historic moment.
a-ha played old hits, five new songs, and a couple of songs from their back catalogue they rarely play live - and the show was a massive success. From the opening, the new single "Celice" to the final "Dark is the Night," the band gave the audience a magical evening, and they seemed better than ever. "We're like old wine - we just get better," Magne jokingly commented at the after party. Judging from the reaction from the crowd during the concert, that is true. It was a happening out of the ordinary - as Morten said, "It was like a fairy tale."

The concert received rave reviews from the Norwegain press. Dagbladet gives them a rating of 5 out of 6, calling the concert "a-ha's triumph." "Historic!" is the heading of VG's review of the concert, giving the concert 6 out of 6:

In front of the largest audience that has ever been present at a concert in Norway, the trio delivered a parade of old hits, as well as five new songs. This is probably the best version of a-ha that has ever been on a stage. One of the new songs was the balled "Cozy Prison," which was lifted up by a beautiful piano theme. Just as beautiful were "Holy Ground" and "Keeper Of The Flame," and they may soon become new live favorites in a-ha's concert repertoire. The final fresh song was a rough thing with the title "Analogue." Listening to 120,000 people singing along to "Hunting High And Low" was a magical moment, with an extremely high goose bump factor. A-ha and the audience got a concert for the history books.

Set list:

Celice
Move to Memphis
Scoundrel Days
Weight of the Wind
Living a Boy's Adventure Tale
Cozy Prison
Crying in the Rain
Keeper of the Flame
Early Morning
I Call Your Name
Manhattan Skyline

Holy Ground

Hunting High and Low
Take On Me
Stay On These Roads
Analogue
The Sun Always Shines on TV

In addition to the popular Norwegian act Ravi and DJ Løv, a-ha also introduced Norwegian newcomers Girl Happy as a support act. The most observant will recognize the drummer in the band as an a-ha associate from the time he stepped in as Paul's stand-in at a Spanish television broadcasted performance in Barcelona on April 23, 2003. See the report and pictures here. For more information about Girl Happy, go to their website.

"We went where our music was appreciated, and that was everywhere but the USA, we knew we had fans, but there is only so much of the world you can play at once" Magne F
