The Polyphonic Spree Anybody into them?
I caught them on TV a few weeks ago and although I knew the name I'd never heard any of their stuff. I thought the the gig they did was cool in a far out hippy way but is it worth me ordering a cd? Any feedback would be welcome. Some people are like Slinkies...
They're good for nothing but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down the stairs.

I haven't heard their album, but saw them at the V Festival last week. They were really good, but something about them made me feel that if I watched too longg, I would end up turning in to one of them..... The Hottest chip of them all - www.hotchip.co.uk - Get down with Prince

I must confess I only own 'The Beginning Stages Of...' and not their latest album.
'The Beginning Stages Of...' is a wonderful, joyous record though. I love all the tracks, although 'A Long Day', i think it is, the last track, is totally surreal. Really, really long, it's a collage of noises and bleeps, rather like Lennon's 'Number 9' on the White Album. Kinda hypnotic, i guess, but takes a little getting used to. Never seen them live, though they have a good reputation (particularly for being a bit barmy and having stage clowns and jugglers and stuff on their tour)

THAT'S the band I have been trying to think of the name for few days now. I've heard of them, but had never heard their music. Then I was on a plane recently, watched a movie with a song I really liked in it, and at the end credits it said that the song was by Polyphonic Spree.
Well, I like that one song anyway. I know nothing else about them. "I saw a woman with major Hammer pants on the subway a few weeks ago and totally thought of you." - sextonseven

I saw them open for Bowie a year or two ago. It was a fun show. Bowie, who I love and who's concerts are generally excellent, was a bit of dissapointment. If I were king, rockstars would not be permitted to pass out earplugs to the audience. a psychotic is someone who just figured out what's going on

Saw them when they opened for Bowie when he playd here in K-town in April 2004. Had never heard of them before, but I wasn't overly impressed with their performance. The sound was terrible so I couldn't really tell what the songs were like. All I saw was 30 or so people onstage, jumping around dressed like Jesus.
I've heard one of their songs since. I think it's called Follow the Day. Not bad at all. "A Watcher scoffs at gravity!"

Thats the performance I caught on tv, it looked like they were havin' a ball. Anyways I've ordered both albums and am currently sewing myself a white robe and growing my hair! Some people are like Slinkies...
