Why did Eddie Murphy stop making music?

It seems when he stopped releasing albums, his movies got crap too?

Eddie probably knew his music wasn't that good. Eventhough I heard him say his music is a mix of Prince and Micheal Jackson's.

after "party all the time" he realized that he will never make a more groundbreaking song ever, and quit.

Unfortunately, he did another album after that!

Why did he quit? Hopefully because he realized that his music sucked like a cheap hooker. We can only pray that he never releases another album again!

his best performance is when he plays a jamaican guy who performes a song at a military talent show called "kill the white people".

It's one of the funniest moments on saturday night live

I liked Eddie Murphy's songs. They were infectitious and his voice wasn't bad.

But i think he was disappointed people did not take him seriously as a singer.

After he'd made comedy songs ... it was hard to hear his voice ... you'd wonder was that his natural singing or an imitation ... the crossover just was too confusing.

Yes, his songs were infectious, like Ebola (and about as enjoyable)

and his voice wasn't bad.

Of course, it wasn't good either.

But i think he was disappointed people did not take him seriously as a singer.

Hard to take seriously someone making songs as bad as "Put Your Mouth On Me". Hell, I never could get through "Party All The Time" without laughing, since it sounds like he's singing "my girl likes to potty all the time..."

After he'd made comedy songs ... it was hard to hear his voice ... you'd wonder was that his natural singing or an imitation ... the crossover just was too confusing.

The only thing that was confusing was how anyone encouraged Eddie to sing! Probably the same folks who told Don Johnson that he should record an album!
