E.Y.C

Another boyband. They sound very 1994, if u can remember that year of pop (there was v. little stateside it seemed)

The music is uptempo and slow jam filled. And on the right side of cheese.

I dont even remember them, but this album has some good cuts.

Yep. A big budgeted disney film set like the old forties musicals were.

Nice idea in theory, but, wrong time period to drop it in. Shame as overated crap like "chicago" wins oscars yet this film got rasberry awards I think? There were alot of kids films around then. In otherwords, films with kids as the stars of the film, and so obviously, some of those sorta films got swept under the rug.

YAY. Was domino 1994? I liked him.....

But that was the first year I was in UK, and music was different over there. The whole britpop thang was starting up slowly.

All those albums we listed did not do anything over here, except "come baby come"

I would mention hip-hop like the boogie monsters and the alcholics, but I don't know if you like that kinda hip-hop.

Never heard of them. Though I do like shinehead, who mixed reggae and newjack somewhat ("try my love" is a dope track)

I got the original video for "pumps and a bump". When I ever get a digital camera, I'll post the pics. My mates think its the funniest thing ever.

I love that part of the song (the bridge)

"all that we want, is a man who is right, who can hit it all night (cue dumb macho chant) "we gotta pumps the bump" (or whatever).

I put "straight to my feet" on repeat down the city the otherday on my headphones.

Mr prime time in full effect.

.

"Straight to My Feet"—Hammer and Deion Sanders
For some odd reason, this was the most heavily promoted song on the album, yet this has to be the worst trash I have ever heard. (Remember the Rapping Duke? He was better) Hammers lifts the same loop as De La did on "Me, Myself, and I" and adds corny ass Funkadelic-like-bass riffs. As for Deion Sanders, he should have taken a lesson from Keith Jackson: football players play football—they don't rap.

I cant find the lyrics to "straight to my feet". Shame as they are funny.

Deion calls himself mr prime time, but other then that, hammer raps most of it.

That reivew is funny though lol

Thats the only song I got of them (off a comp). Its ok, but 1994 was a weird year for rnb. Some of the newjack production was gone sad

Oh shit, i LOVED 'come, baby, come'. redface In fact, i bought the 12 inch. woot!

"I slam de door, when i come into the bedroom - WHAM! BAM! - cos i'm the king of the castle..."

music

and in relation to EYC, i remember only one track of theirs, which was terrible (the chorus went, "if you're feelin' real good say hey! (HEY!) If you're feelin' alright, say right! (RIGHT!)", and the beginning went, "Now is the time, to have some fun - get yourself together..." etc. lol terrible)
but the girls in my class at school were big fans of the video, because the guy with long hair (in the middle) got his shirt off, and he seriously worked out.

this is probably nonsense, but some crevice in my mind is telling me this...wasn't EYC just a boyband put together which was made up of 3 models? confuse

i'm sure they were just models. hmm

lol Cool post. I just looked in my dads hit singles book, and they had some top 20 hits in the UK, which is kinda cool.

"feelin alright" (the song u mentioned) is pretty dire even by my standards (with those silly macho chants and all), but its funny somewhat. I got a funny remix of that song.

I dont know anything about E.Y.C except for the newsies connection. Also, for the real hardcore, some newjack connections are present production wise too.

As fo the model thing? Ur proberly right, but they did co-write most of the tracks, which is somewhat more then I thought they did. Plus some good songs are on there(for me), so they had some talent I guess?
