Common DIDNT diss 50 Cent. He just quoted him on the P.I.M.P. song.

U mean the - in da club song, right?

go shawty it's your birthday...

Yeah, thats what I mean to say.

But speakin of dissing 50 Cent, I know Fat Joe dissed GUnit by sayin "I feel safe in here with all of these police courtesy of GUnit!" You could hear 50 in the audience yelling "fuck you, you fat pussy!" or something like that. Then 50 dissed him back again at the end of his stage performance by sayin "Fat Joe, you is a pussy, boy". He some other stuff, but MTV censored it tho.

There were a few good performances (Green Day, Kanye [yes, he was actually good], Shakira), but overall it was disappointing. And the cinematography/editing was atrocious. I was trying to watch the clowning/crumping dances, but every five seconds they either showed an overhead crowd shot during the performance or switched to some celebrity looking at the performance. Plus the "surprises" looked forced and not spontaneous. MC Hammer was a nice touch, but his performance suffered for the same reason as the crumping dancers.

And what was with the lip synching? R. Kelly didn't even do a passable job of that, and his theatrical skills left much to be desired. Mariah's performance was really disappointing, and she relied way too much on pre-recorded vocals, which makes me wonder whether her voice has permanently started to go downhill. And what's with the remote performances anyway? It takes away from the energy at the arena. And Coldplay didn't even sound that great either.

At first I thought that this show may have suffered from being in Miami, but the truth is that the VMA's suck now because the musical acts are either not ready for prime time or have gotten too lazy.

Since you mentioned all of those artists, then I guess you're gettin old. Cause none of them really seem hot anymore as they were back then.

I didn't mean bring them back to perform today. I just meant that there is NOTHING memorable at the current mtv award shows. Green Day was good, but not Whoa! The Hip-Hop performances are just nothing special.

I was just going to say we don't necessarily need to see Madonna, Prince or MJ come on stage to get the party started, though it would be GREAT if they showed up but there's no one out who's even close to their shoes to make a show like the VMA's memorable.

It's been a hour so far and it's just downright depressing to watch this show. They just showed the Crumping dance thing and it was unimpressive. I'll check out more of the train wreck.

Missy and Ciara just won Best Dance Video.

It's ok guys - everyone knows (including MTV privately) this years show sucked major ass!

I thought the R.Kelly performance (even with the lyp-syncing) would have been good if he had the actors on stage - acting out the song like in the video. But it sucked with him there solo trying to carry out every scene. I didn't get it....he normally sings live so I don't know what went wrong...

Mariah, was Mariah - which is good enough for me.

There were no memorable moments, no TIVO moments...etc. Oh well.

They also need to go back to comedians hosting the show, someone like Dave Chappelle would have been a brilliant move! wink

cool The show was horrible it was one of the worst i've seen. P Dud SUCKED. He was bad from start to finish. What was that tribute thing he did for Notorious Big all about? He should have done something for Luther. No disrespect or any thing but how many years have Biggie been dead? Green Day was the best performance. The show dragged on & what was the surprise anyway? MTV use to be cool.

The VMA's just ended here in Cali and it's official: This years awards was the WORST ones yet. It sucked ass from start to finish. Doodoo i.e. Diddy should never host an award show again. EVER. No memorable performances from ANYONE. Good at best was Green Day, Kayne and Shakira. Everyone else sucked. We all need to go over to mtv.com and complain. They need to know how bad the awards were so this can suck. But they can only be as good as the people they play and nominate. Now I'm scared to see what's going to happen in 2006.

Shakira and Alejandro Sanz woot!
Green Day woot!
Coldplay ehhhh..same performance over and over.

the rest... barf why did they let so many nasty people perform? ill
loved the big "send off" for Destiny's Child..woo hoo!!!! rolleyes
besides being another crap show. the thing that MOST gets me about the eMpTyV awards is that they're or rather they were suppose to be about music video achievement. and i'd say maybe 5 of the nominated videos had any creativity. Beck was robbed yet once again. Gwen Stefani (who to me, appeared irritated most of the show) and Shakira were as well. and apart from Missy Elliott, i can't think of a crapper that had made an innovative video. at least none of the nominees. Lindsay Lohan; can we say high as a fucking kite? stoned Ashley Simpson..stop. just stop. please stop you nasty cunt! Jessica Simpson..' the fuck were u wearing? eek ok. was it just me, or did Kelly Clarkson slip off the stage? lol some breathing techniques wouldn't have hurt her either. confused

why is everyone dying their hair blonde???? pissed Alejandro no no no! Shakira go back to black or even red. Kelly..another clone. why is it that MTV and America want to bleach everyone's fucking hair???? it's sad, pathetic and disgusting that you need to have blonde hair in order to appear on television or even get some fucking recognition. everyone was blonde!!!! bored

well that was another wasted 2 hours walking back and forth from the television. at least i got some excercise. lol

Did y'all see the MTV ad that said "We Don't Play Music"? They were "dead on it" with that ad and unfortunetly the VMA's seemed to reflect that. It's all style over substance.
