Is Katrina about to lay the smackdown on Mariah, Diddy and the VMA's? If you are wondering who Katrina is, I'm actually talking about Tropical Storm Katrina, which is expected to hit South Florida sometime late tonight or tomorrow. However, it is a slow moving storm and is expected to become a hurricane sometime before landfall. Now, we're not talking about any major wind damage like Hurricane Andrew in 1992, but it is expected to dump possibly up to 20 inches of rain as it traverses from the Atlantic to the Gulf Coast of Florida, and it may take up to three days to do this.

I've been wondering about that and I think it would serve MTV right for the soon to be hurricane to come and fuck their shit up. Plus, no disrespect to Miami, why would they choose Miami to do their awards show, considering the time of year the show comes on and the typical weather patterns in August? Bunch of brain dead folks at MTV.

On the news, one of the people with MTV said that the show will go on but the major concern is making sure the performers and presenters can get to Miami since many flights have been canceled if the whole airport hasn;t been closed down already. Plus some parties have had to be scrapped. Oh well, I guess they'll think twice on the location of the show for next year. NOT! I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". MTV VMA might consider Atlanta or New Orleans?

MTV VMA might consider Atlanta or New Orleans? They could, especially Atlanta but both cities could still be hit hard by a hurricane. This isn't to say a major weather disaster couldn't hit NYC or LA but some things are more obvious than others. I know this one thing: Sunday will tell us the story of how MTV deals with this. The best headline i read this week was, and you have to know the Johnny Carson show to get it was:
Headline: Mariah Carey plans yacht arrival at MTV Awards during hurricane. Karnac: Name three things that really blow. The Most Important Thing In Life Is Sincerity....Once You Can Fake That, You Can Fake Anything.

MTV VMA might consider Atlanta or New Orleans? For God's sake, not New Orleans! At least not now. BTW, when I first posted this thread, I thought that this would be a weak hurricane which would just be a major incovenience. It has since morphed into a category 5 hurricane, which could create catastrophic damage suprassing that of Hurricanes Camille and Andrew, which were the most devastating hurricanes in US history. Right now, it looks as though it may hit New Orleans, which if it does, could not only level half the city but put all of it underwater (since New Orleans is actually below sea level). Even it it hits Mississippi or Alabama, it could cause widespread damage, so please pray for all the people on the Gulf coast.

It would be just like MTV to have the 2006 awards in New Orleans after what's about to happen with Hurricane Katrina. You are right for one thing, we need to pray for the whole Southeast area from Louisiana to Florida. I pray that the death toll will be low and that enough people get out of New Orleans in time.
