Since I've just uploaded a few Marvin albums on my computer, I'm in the mood to respond. I'll pick After The Dance in both versions ( instrumental, vocals ) over I Want you, but hell, c'mon now, what can top the audacity that is Let's Get It On ? . From the tales I've heard, it was written about his love for Nona's mother while she was just sixteen and he was well into his adulthood, sort of risky considering how well it's stood the test of time. God bless Marvin, there will never be another.

My fav of that bunch is "I Want You". The whole album is kind of underrated, I far prefer it to "Let's Get It On". Altough that's another fantasmamastic album as well, as you should know by now.

Ain't that the truth! I saw a best of compilation for Marvin Gaye and not one track (Not even the title track) from "I Want You" made it on there.
It IS a Motown album right?

I love I Want You and Let's Get It On, but After The Dance is one of my favorite Marvin Gaye songs and one of my favorite songs by anyone. Gaye's vocal performance on After The Dance is simply amazing, and the vocal layering is exquisite.
