Remember This Duo?

Yarbrough & Peoples

I've been listening to this Yarbrough & Peoples' compilation all this week and their music is complete beauty for me. Their 1980 hit single, Don't Stop The Music has been sampled a lot in the rap game and those memorable synthesizer lines and Alisa's soulful vocals on this one makes it a instant CLASSIC! Guilty is another underrated funk jam that has a bass rhythm that is just amazing! Yarbrough & Peoples are just an underappreciated funk-R&B duo that ranks up there with Ashford & Simpson. Has anybody ever heard of them?

They reunited a few years ago, playing a few of those Old School funk shows. They appeared at a concert in my area which also featured Rick James and The Time.

Indeed.Throughout most of the 80s,they had several great singles that did well on the R&B charts...

"Heartbeat" (1983)
"Feels So Good" (1983)
"Don't Waste Your Time" (1984)
"Be A Winner" (1984)
"Guilty" (1986)
