Expect VMA to be cancelled

Just heard a Weather report for Florida and the Hurricane is actually Getting stronger and is expected to become a category 2, which is not STRONG in terms of hurricanes, but considering this storm was just a tropical storm hours ago and now its growing, they expect it to be around till Sunday with the worst of it Expected Sunday afternoon. Im guessing the VMA's will probably be cancelled "in good taste" but wait its MTV, im sure they will do some tacky hurricane skit.

Just a side note on people postponing shows, back in Sept 2003, I saw MARIAH at Radio City, the night she performed NYC got hit with the Remains of a Hurricane, heavy Rains, winds up to 70 mph, well the show went on, Radio City was about 40% full, and those people never got their money back.

Trust me, they will not cancel the awards. They may be forced to postpone them for about a month, but there's no way they will not show this. It's too importatnt to MTV. Otherwise, how will MTV be able to promote their latest line of crappy reality shows?

As it is right now, there's still no electricity in lots of areas of Miami, and many of the roads are flooded. In addition, the Miami-Dade airport is still closed.

What this will most likely do is force MTV to host the awards only in mostly hurricane free areas like New York, Los Angeles and maybe Las Vegas. They still need some place which is perceived to be glamorous to the Hollywood crowd.

What the hell is MTV Europe gonna do if it can't spend the next 2 months promoting "up and coming" US acts that sell nothing across the Atlantic?

Repeats of the 2004 show I think.....

Katrina is actually reforming in the Gulf and will hit the FL Panhandle by next Monday or Tuesday. So, it probably won't affect the show. It's already past the Miami area.

I'm a producer at The Weather Channel. Trust me, I'm sick of this hurricane.

Rather, I should say it's "passing" the MIA. But it will be windy Sunday.

And with that said, get ready for what's shaping up to be the worst VMA's yet!
