and why not? even though the song isnt either of their best it still beats any of the crap thats gonna be performed that night..

people need to be reminded that despite both of their screw ups they are talented invididuals..and since they have never performed the song together, i say do it!!!

open the show with Scream and then end it right after...post the winners online.

it would probably save MTV millions...and spare those who actally watch it from hearing Diddy diddy all night long...

Well I suppose it would get "the repeated moment" and would get more publicity than any lame stunt anyone's got planned. When was the last time an actual performance was the show highlight with no controversial gimmicks? I remember MJ's performance being aired everywhere the next day in '95 (but that was coupled with Madonna & Courtney Love backstage).

I can't see MTV and MJ doing anything together for a long long time. MJ should focus on BET and MTV... well they should just die. Oh no! They are already dead!

I don't think MJ will be dancing too much with his back aches and such.

Man is gettin' up there now and them bones don't move like they used to...ask Prince (he doesn't do the splits anymore).

If MTV were REALLY smart, they'd ask Prince and Beyonce to repeat their Grammy 2004 performance.
Hopefully, MJ is getting some much needed therapy right now and resurrecting his career is the farthest thing from his mind.

I like MJ, don't get me wrong, but I DO NOT want to see him on my tv for a while. I'm tired of him, and the way he's screwed up his own career. The man has retarded him self (both physically and mentaly) and we should not celebrate this fact. I just want to see him disapear for a while, get him self healthy, maybe put on a little weight, stay out of the tabloids, sell the ranch and start over.

Maybe then I'll respect him again. Who knows.

Peter Pan has to grow up, or he will die a miserable man.
