Oh I had some brilliant personal mixes on mini disc that went excellently together, before MDs went long-play and before iPods. Should still have them knocking around somewhere.

It's not about the CD, it's about what I mix that CD with that has the most effect on me and my friends.

they don't necessarily go together as a mix, but here are 18 of my favs in alphabetical order by artist/group. (of course limiting it to one song/artist left out a lot of good songs)

2. The Beatles--Norwegian Wood
3. Jeff Buckley--Lover, You Should Have Come Over
4. George Clinton & the PFunk--Flashlight
5. Sam Cooke--You Send Me

7. Depeche Mode--Somebody
8. Everything But the Girl--Good Cop, Bad Cop
9. JJFad--Supersonic
10. LLCoolJ--Around the Way Girl
11. George Michael--Heal the Pain
12. The Miracles--Tears of a Clown
13. Edith Piaf--La Vie en Rose
14. Pink Floyd--Comfortably Numb
15. Lloyd Price--Just Because
16. Prince--17 Days
17. Salt 'n Pepa--Shake Your Thang
18. Bill Withers--Lovely Day
The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.
