Woodstock performances

I watched VH1's presentation of the Woodstock movie.

I wish I could have experienced that live, that was some great music. Wow!

Sly and the family stones
10 years after
Santana

And Jimi Hendrix was amazing, his rendition of The star spangled banner...breathtaking!

2cute you're right on the money, I need to see more Sly footage. I caught the 10 years after set this weekend and that was outta control. Just the expression on their faces made me feel like I was on acid.

Where's that energy (Sly, Jimi, 10 Years After) and musicianship on stages today?

yeah. i admit i like alot of today's singers (beyonce, gwen stafani, norah jones, jill scott etc.) but music will never be the way it was back in those times. music had actual meaning and purpose back in those days. i mean, joanie mitchell, joan baez, janis joplin literally give me goosebumps. nowadays, all you have to do is have a popular rapper on your song and BAM you got a hit record.

MadameS

I have scence the movie in its entire form . And I must say that the performances that stud out for me were Santana, CSNY, Jimi, Sly & The Family Stone, Richie Havens, and Joan Baez.
