Cool that is a double disc and all, but what is up with including Booty? That was a B-Side from TAPOAFOM.

BTW, for me, as an original diehard funkateer from back in the day who has every P-Funk-related album ever produced, countless bootlegs, has seen them live about 30 times and has written extensively about them, TAPOAFOM was my favorite since the 1974-1982 heyday. I feel it was largely overlooked. Anyone else out there feel that disc as much as I do?

Peace,
Scott

It's not the same "Booty" it's been reworked.

I, too, go back to P-Funk's genesis. I think TAPOAFOM was their most consistent CD in the post-heyday sound. I only dug a couple off each of Cinderella Theory, Hey Man, Smell My Finger, TAPOAFOM and Dope Dogs.

As a whole I've enjoyed the Bill Laswell-produced P-Funk projects, most notably "Funkcronomicon" which features contributions from Eddie Hazel, Bootsy, Bernie Worrell, Sly Stone, Herbie Hancock, Sly & Robbie, among others. The reggae version of Cosmic Slop goes down nicely as well as some incendiary Hazel licks on "Orbitron Attack."

As I'm not a fan of hip hop I can't get with a lot of what Clinton has tried to incorporate into the studio albums just as I couldn't get with Prince's early '90s foray into the genre with Tony Mosely although I dug Mosely's flow which had a similar timber to Chuck Ds.

While on Chuck D, chk out his collaboration with his group called Fine Arts Militia. Some of it reminiscent to early P-Funk and Rage Against the Machine stylistically.

Couldn't agree more. 'Funkronimicon' takes the spirit of Funkadelic and brings it into the early '90s (date of release). Also, the contributions from the Last Poets on that album are very good and moving. I like Bootsy's version of 'If 6 Was 9' so much I think it's better than Jimi Hendrix's original. This is also where we hear Eddie Hazel's last works.
