Meshell Ndegeocello TO RECORD "AFRO - PUNK" record rollingstone.com
And after she wraps her current tour with Soulive, Ndegeocello plans to head back into the studio to record her next project, an Afro-punk record for British label BBE. "It's going to be a mixture of the Clash and Bad Brains and Black Uhuru," she says. "Something that's totally different, harder and just not what people would expect for me."

Who says she is touring with Soulive? The prospective studioproject sounds exciting, I need a little more than
RollingStone to cover this news. She has been in the studio and will return to the road in september with Transdub Massiv. This is the latest: Meshell has officially relocated to Los Angeles and is currently recording "For All(ah)" her first vocal album in 3 years. It is produced by Allen Cato and engineered by Eryk Dyba featuring musicians Terreon Gully, Deantoni Parks, Herve Samb, Pat Metheny, Oliver Lake and Sy Smith. The recording is at a studio house called Palace of the Bees and promises to be breakthrough for her. Meshell wants to do a myspace soon for all of her fans. She will also do some spot dates for Spirit Music Jamia in October. Japan, Europe and South America tours are being planned for November and December. As for the Transdub Massiv tour in September where she will play bass only, at this point we have 3 shows confirmed in Vienna, Antwerp, and Amsterdam, and a likely TV performance in Italy. The scale of the tour is smaller than what we initially envisioned, and would be less of a time commitment in any case. The outside travel dates are now September 15-22, or 23rd. So it's a 1 week commitment versus 2 weeks. More news to come... -- "The Company Management Group."

Holy crap! Meshell is with BBE?!
Jazzy Jeff and Will I Am were on there for a short time. Will I Am's EP on that label was SLAMMIN'! Forget Black Eyed Peas, if he continued doing stuff like this, he could be a legend IMHO. 'dre Tried many flavours - but sooner or later, always go back to the Purple Kool-aid!

oooo - I wanna see some visuals -- I know she's gonna look too sexy because she always rocks the house no matter what she's performing -- even when I went to the listening party in DC for 'Spirit music Jamia'- she was only in the backround playing base and she was still so regal, serious, and sexy! damn I love this woman.

Damn, she stays busy. As long as she creates, I'm buying. Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

I will look forward to this, although I've still not heard all of Dance Of The Infidel yet, but i have heard enough of it to know that when Me'Shell sets her mind to something different, she does it with style and invention. Another project to look forward to.

Plantation Lullabies has about three slow songs. The rest are mid- uptempo. I'd recommend starting from the beginning. You may convert once you hear I'm Diggin' You. Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off
