Mint Condition's "Livin' The Luxury Brown"

Sorry if this was discussed before, but I just purchased this CD w/dvd, and I am quite impressed. Like to know your reviews or can someone direct me to previous forum topics on this subject.

I didn't know that a dvd recording of a concert in DC did not come in every copy of "Livin' the luxury brown". I got my copy in WalMart in a pile of discounted cd's at $9.79. I see that I have quite a few previous releases to purchase. The dvd is great, sound quality is excellent (play it very loud the first time like I did). My only disappointment was that this was the first time I had seen MC perform, and I must say Stokley is a good singer but his showmanship skill is weak for a 'frontman'. The rest of the band did a great job especially on b/g vocals.

If U like Mint Condition, check out these guys... I bought their CD after hearing just one track... It's definitely Mint Condition "Mint factory" territory!

I liked their first album. That was funky. Tere second was ok too. Though the tempo was slowing down.

And "pretty brown eyes" was not THAT good.

I gotta admit that as stoked as I was about this cd, when it was released, I was a little dissappointed. It was in very heavy rotation upon its release but it just didn't have "staying power". It was nice but I hear a lot of backtracking. Just because these guys are a "band" in the true sense of the word, that doesn't make up for some of the lackluster material.

Most definitely!!!!! I just don't think they will be able to top that album. Even Life's Aquarium didn't hit me quite the same either but I will say that Luxury Brown fares better than Life's Aquarium.
