We Are the Champions by Gavin DeGraw: better than the orig!? Guys - I can't get this version of this tune out of my head. I heard it on the radio on Tuesday and tracked down the CD that day. It's some tribute to Queen, featuring Los Lobos, Gavin DeGraw and some other folks.
Gavin Degraw has a bluesy soulful voice, raspy and FULL of feeling. This version of the song honestly does such justice to the original song. It's removing the massive arena vibe and replaces it with a smoky funk blues kind of thing. You won't believe it unless you go hear it. If you have iTunes you can go hear a snippet if you do a search for it. Honest - the dude has pipes and so much soul in his voice, and DAMN what he does to this song just blows my mind. www.beaurocks.com Trees are made of WOOD!

I dug the song I Don't Want To Be when I heard it on radio.
Haven't heard his version of We Are The Champions or any of his other material. tA France countdown - T-Minus 4 days and counting. Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...rmusic.htm "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. C'mon y'all."

Nothin can beat the original "We Are The Champions"...
But yeah...Gavin did give it a more bluesier feel. But i think the "Killer Queen" tribute album is not bad. I'd say Sum 41 and Rooney did "Killer Queen" and "Death On Two Legs" quite well...almost identical to the original songs. And yes...I hate Joss Stone's take on "Under Pressure". Even Constantine's version of "Bo Rhap" was okay...but i thought the middle opera section was kinda weak... Haven't heard that, but the big single by him is awful. It's like somebody plucked him out of a Chili's Baby Back Ribs commercial.
