"rnb on a smooth pop tip" or whatever. The image, attitude, the over relience on the producer, was all newjack. And the overalls I was too young, but I remember wanting some after seeing another bad creation with them on, and they were bivins project. Yeah its newjack. Its tough to bother with what was newjack and what wasn't. Babyface's cuts are strictly not newjack, but I call them newjack. Glenn medeiros' "she aint worth it" aint really newjack, but I call it that. And "gangster" was rubbish. Ok video though. [Edited 8/22/05 8:47am]

"Gangsta" wasn't on any album was it? I had the single and was expecting it to be on Hootie Mack, then it wasn't.

Remember the Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air episode where Will rents out the mansion for a Bell Biv DeVoe video production, and the song was "Gangsta"?

Oddly its a bonus cut off my "hootie wack" album. Dr freeze just wanted to do "poison" part 2. I cant believe he is on mj's "invincible". All those years he completely vanished then up he pops on of all things somethignas high profile as an MJ album. "shes a gangster, u know she would, trying to hide it, by looking good....." Remember the "do me" video? Hmmmm, some nice ladies in that one. I like the riff "you can do me in the morning, u can do me in the night....". That video almost defines newjack. Though I hardly ever play any BBD.

Most of the remixes on this album were drastic, and some of them were like brand-new songs, "Word To The Mutha", "Ain't Nut'in Changed", "Let Me Know Something". I didn't like Hootie Mack by the way. I welcomed the 1996 New Edition reunion.

Dr. Freeze (Elliot Strait) wrote and produced "Poison". HE also did"...Sex U Up" for Color Me Badd and "Break Of Dawn" on MJ's Invincible. I'm sick and tired of the Prince fans being sick and tired of the Prince fans that are sick and tired!

Yeah I didn't like the Do Me remixes either, but that album has some cool stuff. "She's Dope" remixed by Marley Marl.

U all know bobby had the best remix album. Infact he had two. All of the tracks off "dance! Ya know it" were better then the originals, with the excpetion of "my perogative". "girl next door" got funked up on the remix "...gi.gi.gi.gi.gi.gi,gi, gurrrrl next door". Alot of stuttering sorta remixes. Classic.

Thats why cinnie has this album. The marly marl connection. Yeah, that remix was ok last I heard it. I think the video was the remix too? Didn't dj eddie F use to hang out with marly marl? I get so confused.....

I don't have it just because of the Marley Marl connection. It was basically a hip-hop album with singing on it. The concept was still relatively fresh, and BBD was way harder than other Newjack acts (Bobby Brown, Guy).
I didn't know at the time it was Public Enemy's people on production on Poison but it makes sense that I enjoyed in in 1991.

If New Edition can't make a good comeback, neither can BBD.
