Eminem: The Beginning of the End

http://www.cnn.com/2005/S...index.html

Missing concert dates.
Seeing newer artists blow up.
Rumors of quitting the business.

With this latest incident, first it was "exhaustion" that made him cancel his European tour.

Then it was a sleeping-pill dependency.

What will it be next?

I hope the guy does retire soon, I've been getting tired of him since 2002. He was good until his second album but ever since then he's been getting samey. He's lost most of the shock factor that originally attracted people to his music and we're getting tired of his ranting against his mother, ex wife and the songs about his daughter. Also what was the point in making fun of Prince in Without Me?

he played himself, probably thinking himself the G.O.A.T, then he start going after the bigger ppl in the industry...The rhymes got weaker, the content less compelling.....

Don't be surprised if you see Em doing rock music in a few years.

This was discussed to death on the org when the song was initially released. A namecheck does not constitute a diss, people. Eminem's comment was not derogatory. rolleyes

This is not a dis:

been suspenseful with a pencil
ever since Prince turned himself into a symbol.

He's just saying he's been rhyming since about 1993.

Hip-hop is and likely always will be a young man's game. Em is a relative graybeard now. Maybe he recovers and beats the trend. I wish him well.

Em said when he was in his prime.. he was gonna milk it for all its worth.. and he did.. the fools who claim he isnt on his game never understood his purpose to begin with.. He had a shelf life and now he is realizing it.. Regardless of what people think, this isnt your ordinary idiot hip hop artist.. he was guided and had all the smarts necesessary to deliver and achieve. He did.. so kiss his ass.

As much as Eminem's overrated ass gets on my nerves, he isn't going anywhere. Lots of celebs and many of them being rock/pop/rap stars go to rehab. Kelly Osbourne just went to rehab and I don't think she's done...well, she never got started so...

I don't think it's hateful poking a little fun at a guy who's done his fair share of putting down a whole lot of people.
Sleeping pill addiction isn't funny, but just like finding out Rush Limbaugh was addicted to oxycontin, well the jokes just sort of make themselves. evillol

And that time may have come sooner than he thought. I remember when Robbie Williams said he'd retire at 30 because he thought it would be lame continuing on in "old" age. Did he? Nope.

He has changed styles a bit.. I think he could go on..

as funny as it sounds.. his music is starting to sound too educated and polished for mainstream.. when he isnt saying Fuck shit ass cunt bitch.. everyone starts to care less..

I hope he does have a good rest. He left me with 6 nice albums and 2 protege projects that were cool (except for D-12's "D-12 World" ill )

he will resume as one of the best lyrical rappers today.
