Is Mase Taling a Leave Of Absence From The Ministry? In a surprise move, Ma$e popped up on the latest G Unit Radio show on Shade 45 to announce his return to the rap game. In addition, he spoke about religion, slain rapper Big L and a possible album release on G-Unit Records.
“It’s the music I wanna make, not the music everybody wants me to make,” he told DJ Whoo Kid. When asked to elaborate on what that meant he simply said, “the Ma$e you know, ” indicating that Murda Ma$e might be back. Ma$e also addressed his religious obligations, which were often the topic of conversation upon his first return. “At the end of the day, all dudes have God somewhere in their hearts, so let’s just put that to the side and do music.” He later went on to add: “All I need is two inspirational records… the other 16 are going to be Ma$e.” No topic was too sensitive on the satellite radio show and a usually reserved Ma$e had plenty to say. He hinted at having some of his rhymes stolen from former rhyme partner and slain rapper Big L “Big L brought me on the scene and I used to rhyme with him… when they used to do records, God bless the dead they would never put me on the records. But all of the hot lines he was saying, and even in his grave I gotta tell this, those were my lines. I used to say those lines in the park and they would put them out in song.” On his relationship with P. Diddy : “It’s really nothing personal, I just don’t want to be there,” he said, referring to Bad Boy Records, “and I already proved if I don’t feel it I won’t work.” So what will Ma$e be like when he comes back? “I ain’t going 50 [Cent] though, I’ma be right in between, I ain’t gon’ be Usher neither.” Look for Ma$e on the upcoming “Get Rich or Die Trying” soundtrack. Looks like Mase took a leave of absence from the ministry.

Hmm....
The inner conflict raging in the hearts of Black musicians who have one foot in the church and one in the club has always fascinated me.

YES! Murda Mase is back, you don't know how long ive been waiting to hear that. Harlem World is one of the greatest hiphop albums of the 90's. I think signing with G Unit will be good for him, even though i'm not the biggest fan of the Guerilla Unit..... |

You must be like 24 years old right? Harlem World one of the greatest hip-hop albums of the 90s??? GET THE FUCK OUTTA HERE. Naw, I ain't gettin the FUCK OUTTTTTAAAA HERE. maybe you should. it's called opinion. harlem world is a fucking great album. if you can't hear that, you need your ears checked. OK, so it represents everything commercial, flashy and blingy about late 90's hiphop, which a lotta people don't like, but hey, it did it better than anywhere else. You can throw on almost any tune off that album at a party and have people vibing. The production is not to be fucked with, Mase's flow is crazy ill, and everythings on point. It's quite obviously not up there with THE 7 DAY THEORY, ALL EYEZ ON ME, ME AGAINST THE WORLD, DOGGYSTYLE, THE CHRONIC, READY 2 DIE, LIFE AFTER DEATH, HELL ON EARTH, THE INFAMOUS, ILLMATIC, IT WAS WRITTEN, IT'S DARK AND HELL IS HOT, ENTER THE WU TANG, REASONABLE DOUBT or E1999 ETERNAL.... but those are on an entirely different level... Mase ain't trying to be a poet, he just did what he did and did it sick.....I wish more MC's would stop trying to act like Big, 'Pac or Jay and just do them.... look how many MC's are trying to sound like Mase nowadays.... fabolous...loon... etc... and if you ain't heard it, go cop the Children of the corn mixtape (the mid 90's group with Mase, Big L, Cam'ron and Bloodshed).... Mase puts a lot of MC's to shame on that cd. |
