Portuguese review of Chaos & Creation in The Backyard

It was from an online translation, which led it to be a little fuzzy sounding, so I here is a description of their review of Paul McCartneys new albu,

1) Fine Line - It's a nice choice for the single, although was not specifically built as a heavily commercial track. Its writing style takes you back to the formula used during the Lennon/McCartney partnership, very balanced, with lines in counterpoint oscilating the positive and negative.

2) How Kind of You - Paul's voice sounds excellent. A complete departure in style for Paul. He has never done such thing before. This song is a more successful attempt than DR's she's given up talking in terms of experimentalism. Also he says that this song lyrics prove to be really strong.

3) Jenny Wren - Paul has a vocal delicacy and it seems as though Paul is singing right in your ear. He calls this one a classic, as if the world today wasn't completely changed. He says that the song has been reported as Blackbird's daughter, but he affirms that it's much more than that. It has a different stacato sound.

4) At the mercy - A worthy contribution. A bit different in style, not considered a classic at first listen, but he thinks it won't disappoint either.

5) Friends to Go - although Paul has said it sounds like a George song, it doesn't to the reviewer. It has a folk/country feel and it has a lyric that speaks about people not longer with us.

6) English Tea - not one of his favorites from what I can tell, but not a bad song either - It seems to remind him too much of other songs, such as For No One and Penny Lane. It causes a bit of discomfort to him as it has a title similar to Ringo's English Garden.

7) Too much rain - seems to really love this one and I think he says that it speaks to the heart of anyone who appreciates good music. He says that it has such a fabulous acoustic guitar arrangement also and will amaze the listener.

8 - Certain Softness - It has a latin beat, like other songs Paul has done in the past.

9) Riding to Vanity Fair - Again, a more nonconvential sound and Paul trying to sound different, with such a exquisite melody.

10) Follow me - He says that this song was previewed in Glasto 2004 and it has not many differences than the live song. Not a highlight for him.

11) Promise to you Girl - Beautiful harmonies I think. A highlight of the album, it reminded him of the better Queen songs. He says that this song was tailored in the ol' fashinoned way with Because and Daytime Nightime Suffering bits.

12) This Never Happened Before - Pretty ballad but not sugary, it recalls a bit of Same Love but with less production and better lyrics. A highlight also.

13) Anyway - one of McCartney's best ballads in many years with a strong melody. It resembles Only Love Remains, but different with such a great orchestration.

14) I only got 2 hands - shows Paul's versalitity to the core.

overall - 50 minutes of excellent music.
