Tommy Page. The artist no one gave a shit about Never have I seen an artist that has a handful of albums and yet has a supposed 0 amount of people that bought them
Tommy could sorta be like a american, cornier nik kershaw. Except, his songs ain't as corny as u think After his very good 1991 album "from the heart" bombed, he retreated to asia, who apparantly were and continued to be big fans of his. At least tommy got a chance to continue making music. Its a shame how little notice he gets or even got after a year or so (pop went out, and grundge came in). He can write and even though his albums are samey, in small doses, its good, often moody fun. Like madonna, tommy is pure pop. No pretending to be gangster or hip, but no OTT "lets show the world how good my voice is" type singing either. Infact, tommys got a distinctive voice. I hope one day someone will appreciate his albums. They are all solid. He can also write a good middle 8. Essential for a good pop song. [Edited 8/17/05 17:08pm]

... and we still don't. Well, i did call this thread tommy page appreciation, but then I thought I'd make it a tiny bit more interesting. Beats my usual "remember so and so" and barely anyone ever does

I wish the music his record company released 2 radio showed a bit more range. I've only ever heard ballads. I hated "I'll be Your Everything". I thought it was really cheesy. Come 2 think of it, whatever happened 2 Kevin Page as well?... Listen to me on The House of Pop Culture podcast on itunes http://itunes.apple.com/u...d438631917

True, he was a balladeer. I personally love that cheesy song to death. But on "form the heart" and "a friend to rely on", there are a couple of awesome lil' uptempo pop numbers. His ballads are often alot darker then "i'll be your everything" though. I picked up a kevin paige (u were close) album. Its got a couple of good tracks. "anything I want" rocks and "a touch of paradise" (which must be a cover) is gorgeous.

Amazinly launch.com had some videos a while back. But as Nogmavrick said, they are all ballads (which I love personally).
