What happened to that Simpson girl was an unfortunate situation because somebody in the audio department screwed up, and she was "caught".

But how many musicians, great artist have lipsync at a live performance.

People to this day applaud Whitney Houston's Star Spangle Banner performance at the Super Bowl, but that was lipsync, even though it was her voice on the tape.

And others have done it live, even Prince.

But it becomes a foul situation when a person is not singing the song in the recording studio, it's somebody else's voice (i.e., Milli Vanilli, CC Music/Black Box/Martha Wash)

If people are going to shit all over artist lipsynching today, well they might as well shit all over artist in the past who lipsynced on shows like American Bandstand and Soul Train.
