Tori Amos - releasing 6 double-live CDs!!!!

http://www.billboard.com/...1001011152

Joining a growing trend, Tori Amos has taken the plunge into officially sanctioned live recordings, of which she plans to release six this year. The Web site ToriAmosBootlegs.com has been established for the distribution of the double-disc sets, which will stem from recordings made on this spring's Original Sinsuality solo tour.

The first two discs will be available beginning Aug. 30 through the site, with pre-orders already being taken. Four additional "bootlegs" will be released sometime in the fall.
Of the first batch, one was recorded April 15 at Chicago's Auditorium Theatre, while the other is taken from an April 25 show at Los Angeles' Royce Hall Auditorium. Each includes performances of songs from Amos' most recent Epic release, "The Beekeeper," as well as favorites and rarities from her catalog.

Also featured is an interesting crop of covers, with the Chicago show yielding versions of Jim Croce's "Operator" and Joni Mitchell's "Circle Game," while the L.A. show features takes on Bon Jovi's "Livin' on a Prayer" and Jules Shear's "All Through the Night."

As previously reported, tonight Amos will open her Summer of Sin North American tour in Atlanta. The run, which also features performances by the Ditty Bops and the Like, closes Sept. 17 in Los Angeles

Looks very exciting ~ here is a bit more information with prices etc. ~~~~~After years of paying top dollar for low quality bootlegs, Tori Amos diehards now have an alternative. Six live bootleg recordings are set to be released this fall. The first two releases are scheduled for an August 30th release, with four more due this fall. All six discs will be available exclusively at www.toribootlegs.com.

Each bootleg is a double-disc package brimming with live rarities, fan favorites and stunning cover versions. Each set was recorded live during her "Original Sinsuality Tour".

The first album features songs captured during Tori's April 15th, 2005 concert at the Auditorium Theatre in Chicago. Among the set's many highlights are live, soul-baring renditions of 1992's "Mother" the title track of new album The Beekeeper and 1996's "Father Lucifer," as well as poignant covers of Jim Croce's 1971 hit "Operator" and Joni Mitchell's "Circle Game."

The second album, recorded April 25th, 2005 at Royce Hall Auditorium in Los Angeles, features intimate versions of 1994's "Cloud On My Tongue" and "Yes, Anastacia," as well as covers of Bon Jovi's 1986 No. 1 hit "Livin' On A Prayer" and Jules Shear's "All Through The Night."

I was at the LA show...and let me tell you...it was pure brilliance. Amazing. Several of those songs I didn't care for or hadn't heard much of and now almost every one of them is a favorite from her new album and catalogue (save "Twinkle"). Any Tori fan should have that one fo sho.
I'll leave it alone babe...just be me

i'm all for artists doing this, so the fans get to give the artist money instead of everyone getting ripped off by bootleggers - at the end of the day, most fans trade with other fans, anyway - though i have to say i'm a little "eh" about recordings of multiple shows being available. the pixies do something similar, but really, you only need to get ONE of their live discs because every show's pretty much the same, and you really HAVE to be there in order to appreciate what you're hearing...

i agree w/ you on the Pixies, but with Tori its different because her sets change dramatically from night to night.

I think 6 is a good number, because between all the releases it should cover at least 75% of the different songs she is playing on the tour.

i think it's great for artists who are known to switch it up, such as a certain someone whom this site may or may not be named after. sigh

The cover art.

Just a logical guess, but based on these 2, I'd imagine the remaining four will be yellow, green, blue and violet.

Well, they had the Sleeps with Butterflies video on the NPG website if that means anything. I like to think so.
