New album, 'Road To Rouen'.

I bought it yesterday. Different from their other albums. Still great. Have you heard it yet?

Have listened to nothing else since Monday. lol

Really, really loving this album.

Fin, Low C, Roxy, St Petersburg - all absolutely first rate tunes. Kick in the teeth is good old-fashioned supergrass, which is cool. Sad Girl - brilliant track, which for me has the same feel as their third album 'Supergrass', which is very underrated. Coffee in the Pot makes me laugh with its foot-tapping and its Fiddler in the Roof-style 'Oi!'-ing.

Tales of Endurance is a nice opener. I guess the only track i'm a little bit Meh about is the title track.

Superb album, overall. Lovely feel to it, and i dig the organic feel to the music on this CD too (including Gaz's vocals, the simple piano and the high little trills on the guitar.)

love

such a great band.

and i fucking hate 'alright'. lol

All I have by them is "Supergrass" and "Life On Other Planets" (and of course I heard "I Should Coco" a gagillion times, but never bought it)

I like them alright but both times bought the CDs and forgot them quickly...maybe I should check them out again...

This one seems to me to not only be a great album in and of itself, but also it sounds more serious and a *touch* on the deeper side than their other albums. I predict (a riot...ha ha) that they are making a transition to more serious and different sounding records with this great album being like a bridge to something that sounds different.

And Gaz is so tasty too, funky old werewolf that he is.

I dug them , but i feel they really ripped of The Stones with
'Pumping On Your Stereo' (if that's how the song's called)

But anyway í am curious about their new album
(never heard any of their albums btw)

They can sound reminisent of other bands and particular tracks, this album being no exception. A few sound like the start of the Beatles tracks and the first one reminds me of Chicane.

But then look at our Prince, especially on stage. Why is it cool and ok for him to keep the funk alive by behaving like James Brown, but some bands if they sound like people they probably like they are knocked for it? I don't see a problem unless it sounds so alike that it's a blatant rip off, or if I don't like the band. Oasis being a prime example!
