Fav Michael Jackson TV moments

Heres some u could chose from

superbowl 1993
grammies 1988
mtv 10
mtv 1995
Brit awards mad
American music awards 1993
motown 25

etc.....

my fav has to be superbowl 1993. It isn't even the performance that is that good, but its the whole spectacle. I had never seen anything like it as a kid. So i got good memories of that one. And "heal the world" is so corny with the flashcards, but that shit ain't ever gonna happen again.

That intro. With the 2 fake mj's on top of the stadium lol Awesome stuff.

Anyone seen him sing "elizabeth, i love you"? I cant beleive I kept this. He only sang the song once for liz taylor. Its actually a really nice, musical kinda tune. But those lyrics mad It is a lovely song though. Laugh all u want. Heres the lyrics.

(song is catchy, and who wants to be heard at work singing the chorus to this lol )

Welcome to Hollywood
That's what they told you
A child star in Hollywood
That's what they sold you
Grace with beauty, charme and talent
You would do what you were told
But they robbed you of childhood
Took your youth and sold it for gold

[Chorus]
Elizabeth, I love you
You're every star that shines in the world to me
Elizabeth can't you see that it's true
Elizabeth, I love you
You're more than just a star to me

Lovely Elizabeth
You have surpassed them all
My friend Elizabeth
Learned to outlast them all
Many started back when you did
Lost their way and now they're gone
But look at you, a true survivor
Full of life and carrying on

This is your life
You seem to have it all
You reached your peak
They wanted you to fall
It's very sad, this world can be so bad
But though all the heartaches
When they put you down
You know you were the victor
And you earned the crown
It's like walking through the fire
Determinded to win
You were beating life's battles
Again and again

Elizabeth, I love you
You're every star that shines in the world to me
Elizabeth can't you see that it's true

Remember the time I was alone
You stood by my side and said:
"Let's be strong"
You did all these tings
That only a true friend can do

Elizabeth, I love you
The world knows your work now
I pray one day I'll be just like... you

Grammy Awards 1988: Man In The Mirror performance

Japanese TV interview, HIStory era: Michael get the giggles and can't stop lol

The Making Of Thriller (twas on TV before home video so it counts): All dance rehearsal footage.

Soul Train Awards, 1993: Miming to Remember The Time in a chair due to a sprained ankle, jumping up to dance and having to sit right back down again. Laughing and joking around with Eddie Murphy on stage - I believe he even presented an award that night.

Private Home Movies special: "I love to tour"

"Elizabeth I Love You"

Sammy Davis Jnr 60th Anniversary Show: Performing "You Were There"

Disneyland TV Special thingy, 1980: When You Wish Upon A Star/Ease On Down The Road

Grammy Awards 1973: J5 presenting by singing all the nominees.

BET Awards 2003: James Brown!!!

(is it safe to post now)

I ain't ever seen the tv show mad

Ellie, iam surprised u've seen "elizabeth I love you". Do u own it (i do luckily). I use to hate it, but it really shows off how verstile mike can be (in this case aping west end musicals)

He gives her a hug at the end.

American music awards 1993 was awesome (he used most of the rountine again on mtv 1995).

Also mtv 10 is cool With the car on stage and all. Nice prop.

funny for the wrong reasons. Sad but still amusing. lol

Shame as that nsync song is not that bad, and the props michael had were good (coming out of the etcha sketcha was cool).

But the execution was way off.

Nothing can top the Motown 25th Anniversary performance of "Billie Jean" in 1983.That was Michael at the top of his game.He mesmerized the world with that performance.I remember going to school the next day,and that was ALL everyone was talking about! The entire show was spectacular, but it was Michael who really stole the show. That one performance is what jump-started the whole 'Thriller' craze. The album started selling like crazy after that show aired.

In that Jacksons TV show clip there's this awesome dance shown at about 3:17 into it, but only for a couple of seconds. I'm desperate to get that whole thing because I've got a very VERY poor quality VHS copy of that show but it's one of the best things I've ever seen him do dance-wise.

i think u had to of actually witnessed it on tv to appreciate it so much (again like my superbowl 1993, its nostalgia for you). He looked superb and it is good, but, something like the choreography on the american music awards 1993 (of "dangerous") was just superb.

Now, I luh me some Mike, but my favorite moment is the part on the Martin Bashir documentery where he said, "You don't climb?" and "That's crazy". My friends and I quote it all of the time. I also like when they show him crouched in the tree.
'Cause your friends don't dance, and if they don't dance... well, they're no friends of mine.

The document itself was a shit, but yeah, Mike was real sweet in it at times. My favourite is the last Miami interview. He' s just sooooo HOT in that one. Still when I watch it, I am droolign.

Or when he says:"oh, me, me, me!!!!!"

Same here! I remember people talking about it non-stop! I was so eek over that damn moonwalk. I spent weeks trying to recreate it, all to no avail. Not only is it my fave MJ TV performance, it's one of my all-time fave TV performances. Really stunning! It doesn't even matter that he lip synched it.

I am sure if I exprerienced that at that time, I' d feel the same, but I grew up knowing there' s moonwalk, and I' ve seen much better performances of his that this just doesn' t do it to me. But I am sure that the "first time effect" of seeing moonwalk must have been really strong.

Even still, watching it now I'm taken by how awe struck the audience is during that performance. I get little goosebumps when they squeal after seeing the moonwalk giggle For me, their reaction is so visceral that it remains a strong performance.

Ugh, Motown 25 was a moment of it's time. The actual performance wasn't amazing (actually, Billie Jean wasn't, the Jackson 5 numbers were since they were sung live), it was just the right place, the right time, the right platform. It can still leave you spellbound through nostalgia, but it's got little to do with the quality of the performance. It was a "TV Moment" to remember, but not all TV Moments are necessarily the greatest.

Then again, since I was just 1 year old at the time, I can't even speak on its impact on me. I can full appreciate all that it meant though.
