Rap is in a "Hampster Wheel" because The Record Industry keeps promoting the same kind of acts.

But, I think in the near future we will see older acts, guys in their 30's getting promoted. Rap is a young genre of music on the record store shelves. It is only 25 years old.

We have seen phases, but I think we will see different points of view the older Rap Fans get.

A 40-50 year old isn't going to be interested in what a Early 20's kid is rapping about, when THEIR Generation talked about that in the 1980's.

Rap is young, it will grow the older it's fans get.

But first, we need to have a Classic Rap Station!

Just like it's so easy for KISS, Aerosmith, & Queen to be remember forever because of Classic Rock Stations, We need to have THAT option to remember RUN DMC, Grandmaster Flash, LL Cool J, NWA, & Public Enemy by the needs of Classic Rap Stations!

That's the key.

hmmm Tony, you may be onto something with this Classic/Old School Rap Station. You're right about us Old School folks in our 30's, 40's. and 50's. We don't want to listen to that teenage/20ish crap. Shit, I could see it now. We could have dance contest and Old School Skating Parties. Now, that might be the jump off.

That's a point of view I never thought of before. My only concern is that most rappers don't seem to have a long shelf life. They're lucky to be around for 10 years so we may not be able to see how they evolve. But even those that are around that long, like LL and Snoop, seem to be talking about the same things they were talking about when they first came out. Who knows what the future will bring, but I'm willing to see how they grow artistically if they decide to do so.
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

Thank God I never liked rap! Only the pioneers and the 80's generation of rap like Run DMC or the beastie boys and so on deserve respect...

Say it's just a dream...
U open up ur eyes and come 2 realize
u simply imagined this
So u lean over and give her a kiss
Here on earth, here on earth,
with u it's not so bad
Here on earth, here on earth
eye don't feel so sad
Stay right here
