The group is Ready For The World...
...and they're far from being from England. Btw, you may get creamed for asking about this song. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...rmusic.htm "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. C'mon y'all."

It's just a running joke about how many times a question about this song will regularly appear. Nothing personal. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...rmusic.htm "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. C'mon y'all."

I think the British accent is in what he says at the begining. I think it was meant as a joke or the singer is obessed with English culture. BTW, there is a thread on this song every other week but you're a newbie so it's OK. As many threads a there have been on this song. I've never took any interest in them until now. So thanks for being the scarfical lamb.

Nothing personal. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...rmusic.htm It seems to always be asked and even stated that Prince wrote the song or was somehow involved....not true (then again, I don't visit these threads, so I'm not sure....I could have sworn it was written about Shelia E., though).

SO, I have no problems with seeing a thread about it every few weeks.

I love this song. They have a few other cool tracks too, like "Digital Display" and "Slide Over."
I mean, don't pay money for them, but definitely check them out.

when Sheila E. first heard this song on the radio, she thought it was Prince singing about her
In any case,Prince wasn't impressed. When the guys came to meet him backstage after one of his shows,he completely ignored them

The members of Ready For the World are from Flint, Michigan (same city as filmmaker, Michael Moore).
What is it with people from Michigan and English accents? Who didnt love this cat? Melvin Riley, lead singer. Anyone have any of his solo joints?
