Some people were insensitive about Rick's passing due to some of the despicable things he had done in his lifetime, but I believe Rick was a decent person outside of the dope and women (I don't know, though). Didn't he get clean and take care of his kids in his final years? I feel sad that one of the great funkmeisters is no longer with us.

I remember that day like it was yesterday. I had to work late that evening and the radio was playing one Rick James song after another. It was spooky as hell in that dark, empty building that night. When I got off work, me and Bud Light mixed up some Rick James jams from hell!

I read on the Rick James site that there is a new CD out that contains not only Rick James hits, but also some songs by The Stone City Band, Val Young, and other protegees. I looked for it in three record stores yesterday and none of them had it. I guess I'll have to order this just like I had to order the DVDs.
