Nah, those threads probably didn't mention Ridgeley. So, for that, Gotta, it's alright! Hey player, u cool with me. Go head on with your bad ass for diggin' Ridgeley! I respect that!

Finally some understanding! You don't know how hard it is, supporting a man whose talent has made so many bitter and derisive.

For great guitar, I recommend Ridgeley's bootleg version of "All Along the Watchtower". It sends chills up my spine!

You are wrong in SO many ways...

Okay, there are many of you who have orgnoted me, suggesting that the shocking lack of photographic evidence of Mr. Ridgeley playing a guitar must prove that his skills are marginal at best. And, true, most concert photos from the era seem to show Mr. Ridgeley kind of standing around, looking forlorn, probably because he is tired of Mr. Michael stealing all the limelight. Photos like the one below show an example of this passivity:

But just because there is no proof of greatness, either on record or by visual illustration, does not mean the greatness is not there. I have always believed the greatness in Andrew's guitar playing came in the notes he didn't play. And believe me, he didn't play a bunch of great wonderful notes!

DUDE!

That's mad funny, but do you know that orgers here have been making a similar argument about Prince's guitar playing?

hahaha, a double-edged sword satire is...

[ no, no, don't flame me. Prince is a bad-ass guitar player! ]

U sure it was me, player? Cuz I haven't posted anything of me on here. Now, some folks on this site has heard my music/guitar playing, but not through here.
Who ran the thread? And better still, can u give me the link? I don't want to take credit for another cat, but at the same time, if there are bootlegs of my shit on this site, I should at least know about it!

Madonna: The Next Guitar God ?

Madonna has done it again, she always surprises her fans with her many talents. She has been nominated for her Guitar playing talent.

While some are busy forecasting Grammy winners, guitar aficionados may very well be preoccupied by another awards ceremony - the Orville H. Gibson Guitar Awards. Artists compete in such categories as Best Rock Guitarist, Best Bassist and Best Guitar Band. Not surprisingly, U2 snagged nominations in all three of those categories this year, earning them the most nods.

What is surprising is Madonna's nomination for the Les Paul Horizon Award, which honors the most promising up-and-coming guitarist. Presumably she's being recognized for the work she did when she strapped on the old six-string during last year's Drowned World Tour. (from the tour.)

Other nominees in the category are pop-rock newcomer Michelle Branch, John Mayer, Pete Yorn, bluesman Chris Thomas King and Latin-pop solo artist Juanes.

The annual Gibson Guitar Awards are voted on by members of the music media, and will be presented on February 26 at the Knitting Factory in Los Angeles,.

Her style lacks the fluidity and grace of Mr. Andrew Ridgeley. She's a poser.

I know. What a guitar stud!

Wait, are there strings on that guitar? What the hell...it doesn't matter. Andy doesn't need strings to make a guitar sing.
