Hardcore Funkadelic Fans...Question I saw a Documentary on P-funk in '99 on VH1 Legends and they mentioned a new Funkadelic release and showed the cover. A Pedro Bell joint! Anybody see this program and/or remember the name of new CD? I recall something to do with time. Fantasy is reality in the world today. But I'll keep hangin in there, that is the only way.

I believe it was By Way Of The Drum as this was supposed to come out for something like the last 10 yrs. In Sept. there is supposed to be a new cd called How Late Do U Have To Be Before U Are Absent?

Yea "By Way of the Drum" is the much sought after shelved CD from 1989. The record company refused to release that one for whatever reason. But that's not the one I was talking about. I actually dug up and old tape last night and found the documentary from VH1. The Funkadelic CD was gonna be called... "The "C" Conspiracy in the last Days of the Time Zone". Don't know whatever happened to that one. And the new P-funk CD, which is coming out in September, as E mentioned above is... "How Late Do U Have 2BB4UR Absent" Fantasy is reality in the world today. But I'll keep hangin in there, that is the only way.

The "Conspiracy" CD was supposed to come out in 1999. The CD was on the Disney owned "Hollywood Records". (Fishbone also released their 2000 release "Nuttwerx on this label too). According to George, the CD was shelved by Hollywood because it wasn't "Disney-friendly" enough, and that Hollywood was a "family orientated label"..(whatever). I was really anticipating that CD because it was less hip hop and more guitar heavy..George said it was supposed to be the "heaviest Funkadelic" CD ever released. Hopefully this new release in Sept will be something worth waiting for.

Or better yet maybe it will generate enough interest to release some of this unreleased material like "C Conspiracy" and "By Way of the Drum". I've been waiting for a Guitar heavy release from P-funk for a long time. Close as we got was Dog Star(Fly On) from "Dope Dogs". That's truly Funkadelic for this era. Fantasy is reality in the world today. But I'll keep hangin in there, that is the only way.

The new release will contain both Funkadelic tracks and Parliament material. The whole Mammoth (Disney) thing is probably more worth a book than try to explain it.

"The Last Time Zone" Yes a couple of trax from that album on the new album but not the ones you would really be waiting 4. As far as I have heard from the latest mix, the hardest shyt will NOT be on the CD. There are sum good cuts but as far as I am concerned, far from the best of the past 8 years of recording. (just my opinion) A couple of the trax are great though. It will be a double album. Expect lots of loops. It is still better than Lots-O-Shyt out there but if I could choose the trax.....who knows.....Still its new P!!!!!
