lol Cute rolleyes

You might want to rent one of these...

...and this time set it for the 60s instead of the 90s (Ricky Martin's era)

And if your Mum has a bunch of the tunes listed above, she's got a damn good record collection.

wink

I know, I just find it funny how people of that age can have all this cool stuff from their era and then stoop to complete rubbish once they hit middle age.

Well, you politely say to your partner, "Hey, let's start our own thread." lol

Cliff Richard really didn't have a big hit in the U.S. until '76 with Devil Woman.

"devil women" is about the only ok clif song. That and that everly brothers duet (he did a duet with one of them anyway). I forget the name. I think it was meant to break cliff in america, but alas it didn't.

I love The Zombies! I wish they'd managed to keep it together as a group longer than they did. They had the musical potential to stick around for a long while.

British Invasion rock is probably my favourite era of music - but I can't think of much to add to your list, so I'll just make a couple of comments:

The Tremeloes
Silence Is Golden

I also really love The Tremeloes version of Cat Stevens' Here Comes My Baby - and Stevens' version of it is really good as well. Seriously - I'm not being sarcastic.

The Walker Brothers
The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine Anymore

One of my favourite recordings of all time - you could call it a great Righteous Brothers rip-off, but I actually think it's better than anything the Righteous Brothers recorded. I put this song on every mix cd I make, and people always rave about it.

That is strange as wide open as the 60s were.
Their records got played but the public only latched onto the hits.
Maybe they were too adventurous even for the 60s (hard to believe). smile

An indication where they might have headed could be some of the Argent material.

I loved that programme last year counting down the most successful singles acts in the UK charts, and The Beatles stumbled in the lower half of the Top 10 and Cliff Richard beat Elvis to #1 lol

I should have noted that this is another American act (like P.J. Proby) who had their biggest musical success in England.

Gotta check into the Tremeloes / Cat Stevens versions of Here Comes My Baby. thumbs up!
