Definitely Damita. American Life was in one word, "horrible". I only liked two joints on that album and those were the title track and "Love Profusion". There were about 5 tracks I didn't like on Damita Jo, and the rest was just simply amazing. Madonna just needs to change up her style and stop being like David Bowie. American Life was such SUCH a dissapointment. NO track made me want to dance. No track made me want to go back and listen again.
Damita Jo is a straight to the dancefloor album that is definitley worth my time. It was better than "Janet Jackson" "All 4 U" and "Dream Street" so shut the fuck up!! SO WHAT she had nothing to talk about, do most R&B stars? When was the last time Luther Vandross SAID something different than being loney or lovin' his baby. Did that make him any less of a great artist? Patti dont say nuthin 2day, Chaka dont say nuthin, ya'll aint blasting them. Quit hating on Damita Jo, u people that can't and don't know how to dance. Get on the floor and let me see U ATTEMPT to dance Straight Jacket Funk Affair

damita jo by a landslide in my opinion. i think damita jo is better than all for you AND janet. yep, that's right - i think its only topped by 1814 and velvet rope. american life is a good madonna record. i think it was way better than music. regardless, i don't think it stands anywhere near damita jo. i've always preferred janet over madonna and certainly there's a bias because of that but even considering that bias, damita jo is a fun record. even if the topics are tired and played out - which it can be argues that they are - it still has better dance tracks and better pop fun than anything on american life. madge took herself way too seriously with american life (and i bet the contrast between this new record and her last will show that even madonna must acknowledge that she took herself too seriously). janet just wanted to make another fun pop record. she succeeded.

Ya know I love you, but... Im sorry but U have to admit, Madonna's ego was all over the place and it turned us off. Not to mention un-danceable trax unbearing "Die Another Day" and "Nobody Knows Me" which were dancefunky. And mentioning uncatchy choruses and yes, taking her life way too serious as if she is soooo much in pain cuz she's rich "Do u think I'm satisfied!!??" Yeah bitch!! "American Life" for much better lyrics although not very great music (it sounds like she is getting back to that on the new album). "Damita Jo"'s lyrics for most songs were crap but in the good songs, the beats were hot.

I assume it was your bedroom as they sure as hell wouldnt dare to play that shit in any of the clubs I go to, people would walk out. Its a dull, uninventive album. I agree, aint exactly any madonna classics on AL, but Hollywood, and Mother & father had me tapping my foot quite rhythmically.

Have Damita Joe. Haven´t heard American life, but judging just by singles I pick Damita Jo. "When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."

Please, as a dancer dont even try me on that subject, chile u better go on somewhere with that mess And um, yes they have played "Strawberry Bounce" "R&B Junkie" "All Nite Dont Stop" and even "Sexhibition" quite a number of times in my club and the floor was packed so..... once again to that one. Doesn't change the fact that the line cracks me up. Love her enunciation. [Edited 7/31/05 11:56am]

Another that I cannot chose. So why am I even playing? Both are the only albums by each artist that I never bothered buying, because I didn't like it enough.
