Great invterview...I love Meshell...although I had a knee jerk reaction to finding out she has just chosen "Islam as her faith."
After such great lyrics like "would you walk a righteous path without the promise of heaven and paradise, streets paved in gold..." from the song "Fellowship," from her "Comfort Woman" CD, and with an album title like "Dance of the Infidel," I kind of hoped she was atheist. I'm still trying to be mature and adult-like when it comes to people of faith. 
but alas, I love the new CD...
