I ran a thread about this very song shortly after I joined this site. Then, I didn't get hardly any love regarding this cut. That's cool though, cuz I'm a firm believer that u dig what u dig. I march to the beat of my own drums anyway.
The thing is though, I LOVE this song SOOOOO damn much, always have. When I was a kid, I had the 45 single of this. Played it to fucking death. I know I drove my mom crazy behind this song. She was used to walking by my bedroom hearing me wearing out Parliament-Funkadelic, KISS, Bowie, and Donna Summer, and everybody else. BUT, this song has always gotten to me. And what it is, I feel, is the passion Benny unleashes in this song. Especially towards the end, the man sounds like his heart is being torn out of his chest, his pain is so deep. I have always HEARD that. As a kid, that's what blew my mind. Since I got older, and became an artist myself, I RESPECTED and admired the freedom he showed by just "howling in the wind" like a wounded and dying wolf. To this day, I can play this in my ride, and my eyes can well up. Benny brought it on this song, ya'll. Granted, the lyrics are about him being in love with a girl that's too young for him and all that. There are many old songs about that very topic. My love for this song isn't even about that. It's about the PERFORMANCE. There are few songs that gives me goose bumps and can make me choke up. This is one of them. Just had to share it, ya'll. Anyway, who else out there digs this song?

B..I just heard this cut on the "Soul Classics" radio station this past weekend. Yeah, this cut will bring tears to your eyes. Everything he must have went thru was poured out in this tune. Good pick as always!
