that last time we witnessed a genius ?

I'm currently watching for probably the 4th time "Ray" and just revisiting his influence on music...as i review the list of "geniouses" and i woudl asay the lst one would be prince: coming after Aretha, James Brown and a few others that actually changed the direction of music and so on....thoughts.....

Well, we only have up and still running artists out now, so we have to see and wait who crosses the 15 - 20 year mark.

Prince I would say yeah is the youngest of the list.. Prince, Mike, Madonna may be the last so far untile we get more on the bunk.

Producers too..cant 4get them... Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis nod
Straight Jacket Funk Affair

There are a number of geniuses in popular music today.
Someone can define artistic genuis however they like, they're are only a few people who could do what some of our recent (last 50 years) artists have done.

thoughts....

How you could not list Stevie Wonder right off the bat.

Well at the risk of relighting the old argument, I really, really like The Love Below, and I'll be watching to see what 3000 does next.

Don't forget Roger Waters as a lyricist. Absolutely brilliant.

Genius...Hmm that's a toughie.

I think the last album that made me go WOWBOBWOW was The Love Below. But one album doesn't equal genius.

There is an electronic band I know of that CONSISTANTLY puts out QUALITY stuff that is just mind blowing. I've mentioned them before...SHPONGLE.

LOL! Obviously some of you cats have a VERY LOW OPINION of what MUSICAL GENIUS IS.
