I hope the Ziggy bonus disc isn't just a re-hash of all the bonus tracks already made available on the Ryko re-issues...of course, those albums are out of print, and I'm sure there's a whole new generation of fans who will see the recordings as new...and who am I kidding, I'm buying it...!

I'm much more excited about HEATHEN - his reunion with producer Tony Visconti! Woo Hoo! That album cover is TOO SEXY.

You're kidding, right? Because if you aren't, I'm afraid I'm going to have to start watching the skies for the coming of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. The end is now officially near. Good grief.

I heard about that cover version Madonna recorded also. Apparently it's all HER guitar playing in it as well. Though I do enjoy Madge's music...I would CRINGE at the thought of listening to M chirping out this classic. She should just stick to doing her own shit...didnt she learn from "American Pie"???

OOh goodie!!! I'm looking forward to this.

Madonna on the other hand, ummm I don't think I want to hear her version of Ziggy Stardust. I wouldn't want to hear anybody else's version of it really...

Ziggy played guitar, jamming good with Weird and Gilly
The spiders from Mars. He played it left hand
But made it too far
Became the special man, then we were Ziggy's band

Yeah the last album with Visconti was SCARY MONSTERS! His last great album

As for Ziggy's re-issue...it is cool, but like Anxiety said, the Ryko re-masters had alot of good stuff on them. If it wasnt good enough to release THEN...

I just dont like the constant repurchasing and transfer of catalogues so labels can re-issue and remaster shit ad naseum!

the Ryko is cool enough for me, i'll get a copy of the reissue

and yes, Heathen should hopefully be a return to rock!

I think Bowie's 90s work is highly underrated. "Earthling" in particular is supreme!

fully agreed.

'Earthling' is great tense and hard music
'Outside' is dense, confusing, but amazing once you get into it
'The Buddha of Suburbia' soundtrack has some very cool stuff opn it, very experimetal, very moody and ambient.
'Hours' is simply good pop songs

the only 90s album I don;t like to much is 'Black Tie White Noise', which has some good songs, but awfully commercial production.

The only exception I would mention would be Bauhaus' cover of the song. If anyone could be qualified to cover Ziggy, it would have been them.
