DUPRI FEELS UNDERAPPRECIATED: Rapper/producer feeling like Little Richard these days.

*He’s the producer of Mariah Carey's latest album, hooked up her No. 1 single "We Belong Together," and was responsible for three of Usher's biggest hits from the singer’s blazing-hot "Confessions" album, yet Jermaine Dupri tells AP that he sometimes feels underappreciated.


"The thing I'm going through is probably like the same thing that Little Richard and all these other artists go through, that I hear about them, saying, `Oh damn, you ain't gonna give me nothing till I die,'" Dupri said. "I feel like I'm one of those type of great people that just going to have to wait till it's all over with for people to really sit around and talk about it."


Dupri says Usher's loss to Ray Charles for best album was a disappointment, as well as losses in several other major Grammy categories.


"I don't mind losing to Ray Charles, but at the same time, the way I look at things is, me and Usher might not make another better album than this. And if we don't, we missed our opportunity," he tells AP. "To me, people look at me like, `You'll do it again, don't worry about this time.' No, I want it now, everything now," he says with a grin.

Give me a break. All the $$ he's made in the last 15 years? All the videos and CD's he produced? All the awards he's won?..He's got nothing to complain about. I know he went bankrupt awhile ago, but I'm sure he's OK now.

And is it just me or does JD always seem to bite everybody's sound? When DeathRow was running things in the early 90s, him and Da Brat popped up looking like Snoop in their videos and making them G-Funk sounding songs. When Bad Boy was running things in late 90s, JD's album was sounding alot like Puffy & Mase's signature sound, uptempo songs sampled from songs of the 80s. And when the Neptunes took over the early 2000s, JD's beats on his 2nd album sounded identical to Neptunes shit. His stuff just always sounds like the next person's.

though sometimes they have been kinda lame, on all of their records. He has had his hits and misses. I would hate to hear a WHOLE RECORD produced by him for one artist.
