Hollies - Bus Stop If this was a Beatles song it would be considered one of the greatest of all time, I was gonna end my 60's thread talking about The Kinks being underrated, but this is one great song I've never seen discussed on here.

I love it - this song is pure summer. It's musically sophisticated with tricky time signatures and a great melody - sixties pop at its finest.

I like the song too. It's used in a mash-up that's pretty good.....you should check it out http://www.gohomeproducti...k/mp3.html Scroll down to the one called Wrapped Detective. It's probably one of the best mash-ups I've ever heard so far. looking for you in the woods tonight Switch FC SW-2874-2863-4789 (Rum&Coke)

Discuss. You're lucky I didn't save the thread I did some time back on 60s Invasion Tunes. I get weary just thinking about recreating that list. Oh, Bus Stop is a great tune as were The Hollies a great group of that era. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...rmusic.htm [Edited 7/25/05 20:03pm] "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. It's a good song, and underrated, but why would passerby's find the song's couple "quite insane" when all the couple is doing is standing in line looking through shopping bags? You would think they'd be hardly noticed at all, with it raining and all.
This bugged me when I was a kid. I was kind of a weird kid. a psychotic is someone who just figured out what's going on

This bugged me when I was a kid. I was kind of a weird kid. The secret may lie in this stanza... Bus stop, wet day, she's there, I say Please share my umbrella Bus stop, bus goes, she stays, love grows Under my umbrella ...at the very beginning of the tune. That reads like they're just hanging out at the bus stop doing the goofy love thing. Maybe folks are thinking why don't they either get on the bus or get a room. Methinks you (and now me) were reading to deeply into this silly love song. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...rmusic.htm "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. This was in hot competition for my fav. Hollies song, along with The Air That I Breathe. However, now that The Air That I Breathe is in heavy rotation on industrial air freshener commercials, I really think I'll have to go with Bus Stop.
