I know this is the non-Prince forum, but can you show his numbers?

The numbers dont really matter

MJ makes maybe $2 per album making $28k per week isnt too much to think about
madonna makes $2/album
the other might make maybe $1/album

the money is pretty insignificant

What about publishing? If an artist writes most of their material and own their publishing (like in MJ's case), they bag a significant percentage of a CD's sale.

Plus, let's remember, this is just one week in one country. If you add it up over time, that amounts to quite alot IMO.

lol

MJ has the highest royalty rate in music, he make half on each sale. it's about 4 dollars and some change.

I have always noticed when a singer becomes big he usually becomes the cowriter
with some big name writers. Big stars always get co writing credits regardless.

Here is the list
Alot of songs r written by Teddy Riley

So? He wrote the vast majority of the songs of Bad, Dangerous and HIStory alone. Invincible was the exception - actually, Teddy Riley has been going around trying to take credit for 'Whatever Happens' when Geoffery Williams was the main writer on that one.

Anyway, fuck credits. MJ has a unique stamp. I can tell something written solely by him without looking at the song credits, and it's not like he has any particular formula. They just ooze his style.

yeah but most of his biggest hits are written by MJ alone. So yeah he gets more that $2

And MJ always give credit to people even if unnecessary.

Blood On The Dance Floor for example is credited to MJ and Teddy Riley. When infact Teddy Riley only came up with a title and MJ wrote the song around the title
