yea i know i'm late, but i aint got cable so gimme a break! n e way. this vid is HOT i love it...its really powerful. great work of art. and the song is great as well. it just don't go wit the damn vid! i mean if was to hear the song on radio i'd be like ...the fuck this gotta do with sierra leone? but then when u see the vid it all comes together..i think its really nice, but i also think he coulda done MUCH better. that coulda been a serious educational track or something, but its still good

I don't like the song or the video or the artist. If he wanted to bring the plight of kids working in the diamond mines to our attention he could go out and do somthing instead of making a song where he is whering expensive clothes and of course his Yves st laurent glasses which he sampled.

Its a great song and great video. I wish people would listen to Kanye's lyrics more and less of his off wax rhetoric.

don't be mistaken. this song is first, and foremost about HIM. it has nothing to do with the working conditions in diamond mines, aside from its title and video. pulled another Jesus Walks with this one. giving the impression that he's singing about an issue or something of importance, but he's really just rapping about himself yet again.

That video is fire.

I always respected Kanye,despite my firey hate for mainstream rappers and their dumb values.
He has great beats that are more original than a handclap and a looped drum beat.

I actually learned about the history of diamonds down in south africa and such so I understand.
