Don't try to blur the situation. A cop's job is to protect and serve. If you're not going to do it right, then seek another professioin. If you can't protect the truly innocent - defenseless babies - then you shouldn't have a badge and you DAMN SURE shouldn't have a gun.

She'll keep doing what she does and all the little disgruntled artists who would in a split second trade places with her so they can do the exact same thing will keep hating when the truth is they what to be where she is. Many white males have no grasp of this because society has been constructed in such a way that allows them to live in blissful ignorance of what really goes on in the streets. As long as its on the idiot box and one can change the channel, that makes everything and anything acceptable.
At no point did I say all cops are bad. I'm certainly not implying that. Cops fuck up. That is fact. If you can't own up to your own misjudgements, then you're not really an officer of the law; you're just a coward with a badge afraid to face the truth. If you will lie to cover your own ass then you're not an officer of the law, you're just a criminal employed by the local government.

If you knew the history of the LAPD you would know that this type of crap has happened before. No one is excusing the Dad. Poor judgement was used because a hostage was involved. It is standard operating procedure to use non-lethal weapons first in Hostage situations. At no time during this incident was any attempt made to use those methods. In my hometown the police department spent millions of my tax dollars on non-letheal weapons. The weapons are sitting in a warehouse unused. Cops don't want to take prisoners they are trained to shoot to kill and nine times out of ten the people getting killed are minorities.

You only have to look at the statistics to see this. Unlike a lot of people I realize that racism is alive and well and I take the necessary
precautions. I feel sorry for people like yourself who continue to live in a state of denial.

to add to what laura has said here, the LAPD's history of racially motivated abuse and harassment goes back decades. they were under federal supervision for an extended period of time in the 1990's and early 00's, if memory serves. The extent of their misdeeds against people of color is astounding. So, GrayKing, forgive some segments of the LA community if they don't give their police force the benefit of the doubt (even if the LAPD is right). The LAPD lost their credibility in many sections of the city decades ago.
