Songs that would've made great videos

Whenever I listen to these songs, I always get visuals of great looking videos. I can play out the cinematography, look and feel in my head.

Res - Let Love
I imagine the video being filmed in shades of light blue with dark lights. I picture snow. Very artsy.

Alana Davis - Got This Far
I imagine Alana taking an adventure to Jamaica and she's singing with a guitar. She's strumming her guitar in the back of a pickup truck cruising the countryside, reaches an outside dance party and drifts through a crowd of dancing, jubilent people while singing.

Tori Fixx - Area Code 404 (feat. Johnny Dangerous)
I imagine Tori and Johnny in Atlanta and it's shot near Peachtree. The skyline in this video is magneta and it's right before dusk. The video would be filmed sort of like the "Southern segment" of Spike Lee's Crooklyn film. It's a really chill, reflective video.

Tori Fixx - Try (The Fixx Cabaret)
I imagine Tori turning this video out. This would be a big production. People wearing top hats, tuxedos with canes. Choreographed dancers. Tori on stage under a spotlight. Hip hop dancers. Groundbreaking visuals. Something really big.

Gwen Stefani - Long Way To Go (feat. André 3000) / bUbbLE *pOp* eLecTRIC (feat. Johnny Vulture)
These would've made great videos. The first could've been shot in narrative format. Gwen and Andre wouldn't have to be in the video. It would show an interracial couple dealing with societal discrimination. There would be shots of immigrants, homosexuals, gay marriage, Iraq war protestors, anti-Bush people, etc. This could've been her political vid. For Bubble POp, I imagine Gwen & Johnny in the San Fernando Valley. I picture Johnny driving up to Gwen's house in a Greaser jacket looking like Fonz from Happy Days. It would be very colorful and sort of like the A-HA "Take On Me" video. They'd go in and out of animation.

Kelis - Game Show / Ghetto Children (feat. Marc Dorsey & N*E*R*D) / Wouldn't You Agree (feat. Justin Vince) / Glow / Little Suzie / Mr. UFO Man (feat. John Otsby of Spymob) / Perfect Day
Kelis has so many songs that would've made for great vidos -- "Kaleidoscope" in particular, was major. She could've made a killing.

Janet - SloLove / Like You Don't Love Me / Empty / Trust A Try
Mya - Things Come & Go (feat. Sean Paul)
Nelly Furtado - Picture Perfect
Les Nubians - J'vuex d'la musique

These are just some.

Housequake

I imagine Prince in a run-down bar, coming in from the mezzanine to put his foot down and teach the audience how to dance.

Sex

I see a prince -shaped spaceship coming down, Prince walking out to tell us his name is Endorphin and to tell all the girls with no underwear to say yes

See the club. People not dancing, but just going to and fro to the bar, an stupid Stock Aitken & Waterman tune playing softly.

Imagine Prince in a STT outfit, with ribbons in his long hair, clad in peach and black. Standing on the mezzanine, eye-ing the DJ.
Then he walks over, pushes the needle of the record and shouts SHUT UP ALREADY!
through the mic. Then he puts up a black album and puts the needle ON the record. It skips. Prince swears; DAMN!

The beat start. Prince walks down the stairs, holding the mic. Starts to sing. Mingles with the crowd, teaches them how to do the twist. The crowd scants QUAKE! QUAKE! QUAKE!

3 minutes 25 seconds into the tune, Prince jumps on stage and there sure is Sheila, Cat, Boni; the entire crew...

Then the song breaks and they play the rest of the tune LIVE...

Sigh.

Missed chance, that. That tune would have RULED the clubs...

I would love to see a video for "Wedding Feast"! smile

Prince, Mr. Hayes, Larry Graham, Chaka Khan and others sitting around a table and eating hamburgers while Mariah Carey & Marilyn Manson having the first dance on a dancefloor covered with Michaéla Jackson vinyls!!!
