Klaus Nomi

Just wondering if anyone here is a Klaus Nomi fan. I'm asking because I have to "be" him for a show I'm performing in. I just found out that Klaus is my character, and I don't know much about his stage persona or mannerisms. hmmm

I know who he is, and also know just a couple if his songs like "Lightning Strikes" lol (granted, there aren't that many of them) because we have performed to them before, but beyond that, I have no clue as to how he acted on stage.

Whatcha think?

Don't know much about him outside of seeing him onstage during a Bowie SNL performance.
If you've got Urgh: A Music War there's a section on him.

lol Yeah, I'm curious as to how they're (the wardrobe and makeup people) are going to do it. I'll have to have some sort of wig on. lol

You actually saw that Bowie episode on SNL?

And thanks for that link. nod I hadn't found it yet, and it really will help since it's video footage and not just pics. thumbs up!

There is a film about him called "The Nomi Song". It is available on DVD. Maybe you can buy or rent it before your performance. You can also check out he website [url]www.thenomisong.com[url]

I think performing like him without looking ridiculous is quite a difficult thing to do. I wish you all the best for your performance.

Well, I don't have to sing, or even lipsynch. It's a fashion show that's featuring lots of glam rock stars and also some more obscure figures in music. We all have to just walk out and "be" them. Ths costumes will be pretty amazing though from what I hear. They are being designed by the costumers that did the costumes for John Water's "Hairspray" on Broadway. So I imagine it will be pretty full on image-wise.

Can't remember if it was the original show or some repeat.
But who could forget the image of Bowie in that bowling pin shaped tux-like get up...
