It's ok. The whole thing doesn't gel nicely, IMHO. Maybe it's his vocals, which just aren't what they used to be. I think people are going to overhype this one, though.

Not to mention the "THIS IS AOL MUSIC" that came on about 3 times to interupt the bootleggers... I also heard "Follow Me: from teh album.. and its spectacular.. I really dig that the most right now

This thing hasn't even debuted properly yet and already it's his "best single in 10 years!!!!!".

Follow Me
You lift up my spirits You shine on my soul Whenever I'm empty.. you make me feel whole I can rely on you to guide me through any situation... You hold up a sign that reads.. follow me You give direction You show me the way you give me a reason to face everyday I can depend on you to send me to any destination You hold up a sign that reads... follow me Down the tracks of lonliness down the path of love through the words of heartache to the end on the shores of sorrow with the waves of hope crash in The perfect place to find a friends.. oh.. yeahhh You lead me to places that Ive never been Uncovering secrets that i've never seen I can rely to you to guide me through any situation You hold up a sign that reads... Follow me ----- Excellent song, melody that will be with you the very first moment you hear it.. [Edited 7/26/05 17:08pm]

When does his new album come out? I am anticipating this one since I have been hearing really good things about it. Is it better than his last few albums? I wasn't all that crazy over driving rain.

I believe it will be better.. So far the songs have been very different from his recent works.. and focusing on the structure of his early work. not to mention, Nigel Godrich produced it, and was said he was very straight forward about the songs and wasnt afriad to criticize and turn it into a well thought out composition. Comes out at the beginning of september. Called Chaos and Creation in the backyard.

Sounds good. Reminds me more of Todd Rundgren than it does of McCartney. Not a bad thing, just different.

Here is a little additional information regarding the album..
Paul McCartney Returns To His Back Yard For New LP Paul McCartney With The Beatles still a significant part of pop culture, it's easy to forget that Paul McCartney has been making music sans-the Fab Four for 35 years now. You can make a lot of records in that amount of time and Sir Paul has — he's gearing up to release his 20th solo disc. McCartney's carved out quite the solo career. However, he's never shied away from capitalizing on his Beatles past, like when he played a bunch of old hits during last January's Super Bowl, so it comes as no surprise that he's returning to his roots on his upcoming record. On Chaos And Creation In The Back Yard, Sir Paul tries something he did on his first self-titled solo album in 1970 — he's playing every instrument himself, including the guitar, bass, drums, fluglehorn and harmonium. And to make sure those Beatles days find their way into his new record, McCartney recorded "Jenny Wren," which he says is the "daughter of 'Blackbird.'" Co-produced with Nigel Godrich (Radiohead, Beck), Chaos And Creation is McCartney's first record since 2001's Driving Rain. "I did not want to rush this album. I think it was worth the wait though. The music became more interesting over time and I'm really proud of what we did," he says. Catch Paul McCartney in Toronto on October 10 at the Air Canada Centre. Here's the track list for Chaos And Creation, in stores on September 13: "Fine Line" "How Kind Of You" "Jenny Wren" "At The Mercy" "Friends To Go" "English Tea" "Too Much Rain" "A Certain Softness" "Riding To Vanity Fair" "Follow Me" "Promise To You Girl" "This Never Happened Before" "Anyway"
