what is your 1 album of the year this far?

snowflake

so, we're a fat six months into the year and have had our
fair share of new releases to sift through. and although
you might have a few favs at this point, I'm interested to
know what the ONE album is that sticks out above the rest
for you personally. so just 1 titel (well, try to anyway)

I'm still stuck on Out Hud's album, though I'm really really warming up to The Decemberists' "Picaresque" more and more lately.

well as a self-proclaimed Trent drooler, I have to confess
that I still haven't heard the (entire) album yet. So I had
a less hard choice in simply going for Guero

altho what I've heard from "With Teeth" is fantastic as well

Well, when you do get into it, you'll get into it, and into it, and into it.... biggrin

Apparently he's feeling quite inspired and creative at the moment and is itching to get back to the studio, so there may well be another NIN album out sooner than expected.

Based on the ones I've heard, I'm with IstenSzek. Guero is it for me. It smells like an instant classic.

Either somebody's greatest hits collection or an old album that was remastered this year.

Teena Marie's "La Dona" from 2004 and Jamiroquai's "A Funk Odyssey" from 2001. Before that, it would probably be the Quad City DJs' single "Come On Ride The Train" from 1996. lol

Sadly, I may have to agree with you b/c most of the albums from this year were a piece of shit.

Tell me: what does he do that NWA, Ice-T, Tupac, Ice Cube, Mobb Deep, Jay-Z, and dozens of others haven't done?

I'm really asking, because I suspect next month it will be some other "gangsta" cat on the come-up.
