The Pussycat Dolls!

Ok, I guess you can say i've had a delayed reaction to Dont'cha but I really like it now! Reminds of of old sleaze pop like Vanity 6. Does anyone know if they will release a full length cd?

YES!!! Glad to see some Props for these girls. Nicole (formerly of EDENS CRUSH) can SING!! I have known her for awhile now, met her many times, talked to her alot, and she is Super cool, all around great person. But as for your question, their CD will be released on Sept 13th, right now the CD is underwraps and not much is known about it, but it is done and ready to go. On JULY 26th they will release a MAxi CD SINGLE with all the club mixes for DONT CHA, they are really Hot, great stuff, very 80's like, vanity 6 like, u name it. Also there is a good chance the DOLLS will be opening for GWEN on her tour this fall, those plans are in the works right now.

PEACE!

Plus this song just entered the TOP 5 at Number 4, basically its doing it the old fashioned way, its actually climbing the chart, back from its debut over two months ago at number 96, nowadays things debut and then fall, this song is actually climbing.

Thanks for all the info. I think they rock and i will definitely get their cd when it comes out, especially if it's kind of 80's! Just out of curiosity what is the lead singers nationality and what can you tell me about the group. I know nothing about them. Cheers!

Nicole Scherzinger's full name is Nicole Elikolani Prescovia Scherzinger. According to the imdb, she is Hawaiian, Filipino, and Russian - but she's got an "ethnically ambiguous" look that allows her to play, for example, a Puerto Rican in Chasing Papi. (If I'm not mistaken, Sheila E and Pete Escovedo make cameos in the film, and Eden's Crush covered "The Glamorous Life" back in their heyday... anyway.)

Also check out wikipedia's page on them.

Tori Alamaze recorded the original version of that song. Late last year, it became a moderate club hit (at least out on the west coast). Due to the street buzz created by the song, some industry cats decided to make the track a vehicle to further capitalize on the success of the Pussycat Dolls show at Johnny Depp's Viper Room in L.A. So, they basically reappropriated the song and gave it to the Dolls.

She had a sorta "demo" version, yeah and they added the background singers voices much better, then threw the Saxophone part in the chorus.

THEN they made a REAL version without Busta Rhymes. So now there are 3 versions of the song.

I'd love it if this became a song war with Tori Alamaze acting as a renegade performing the song at every venue, saying:

"Those Pussycat hoes stole my s**t. DJ*!
whistling I kno' ya like meeh..."

Also, I'd like to add that almost ANY girl group or female singer could take this song and make it a hit...

Destiny's Child
Beyoncé
702 (could've made a comeback with this song)
TLC

I think in the industry, they were having an internal war over who would win "Don't Cha." They KNEW it was going to be a big hit.

BTW I hate this song, but I think the lead chick (Nicole or whatever her name is) can sing, which is rare these days.

Damn, that's cold! I take it you're not a fan? biggrin I mean, it is a pretty hot track so maybe even the kool Aid man could've recorded it and would have been just as successful.

I like them, or rather, I like Nicole seeing as she is the whole group. I can't really hear anybody else on that song, but her. Maybe the rest of them sing, but I doubt it, at least not well.

And when the fuck did they get new Fanta girls. Were they really that popular that they felt they had to find prettier models to in the ads?

No, it's pretty shitty pop stuff. The group was formed on TV as part of that "Popstars" show years back. I think it was on the WB. The whole thing was too smiliar to "Making of the Band" and we all know how far O-Town went.

"Dontcha" is a really hot club song. I think it's great - all except for the chorus. I could do without that!

I think C+C Music Factory use to do the same thing back in 1990.
