I don't know why Funkadelic doesn't get as much credit as they deserve, since most people just remember them by the song, One Nation Under A Groove. Parliament seems to get the most acclaim. But you can never compare Parliament-Funkadelic because both groups are from the fellowship of P-FUNK.

it's the other way around, people think Funkadelic is less funky from the lack of horns and all the guitar work, all I have to say is Lets Take It To The Stage.

That 4-CD set is incredible. One of the best "comps" ever put out for the P-Funk fan.

Yeah, it is. Hey Spyz, go over to Prince Music and More, hit the thread "Prince songs that sound like other artists" or some shit like that. Chime in, brother man. Check out my list while you're there.

Parliament for the horns, the keyboards, the futuristic party atmosphere, Funkadelic for the guitars, the riffs, the psychedelic craziness. If I had to nominate the 10 best albums in the history of funk, I think two of them would be Parliament (Mothership Connection, Funkentelechy vs. The Placebo Syndrome) and two would be Funkadelic (Maggot Brain, One Nation Under A Groove)

Although I find it hard to ever considering choosing "this or that", I find myself going to more of the Funkadelic side of things. But I truly love it all!

Parliament for its groove and concept stroy lines.. the battles between Nose and star and Funkadelic for its psychadelics and hard hitting in your face funk.

I have a feeling it wont be but we will see, George has been faking the funk lately, albums chalked full of mainstream rappers, over polished production etc
