A mate and I were channel hopping the other week and came across it. We were stunned to say the least. It's actually not a bad tune; just poorly executed with a rubbish production. The video is hysterical - she's obviously meant to look as if she's sunning herself on some beach in the South of France or somewhere; it's very light and sunny. Check the force nine gale blowing through her hair and you can tell it was shot in Great Yarmouth on the cheap. At least it was sunny. And Voices - I pissed myself when I read about her new album. Apparently, it didn't even crack the Top 200 (!). The article said something like: "Just to put it in perspective, the album at #200 this week is 'Brother In Arms' by Dire Straits, an album released 20 years ago". You go girl! Although I don't like her solo stuff, that's pretty sad. Why the hell is it called "L.A State Of Mind"....this album isn't going to be sold in America unless you order the import...I mean some stores stock imports but...come on! I know Geri's album isn't doing so well either, but at least it's available at a lower price (only $15.49, which is damn good for an import), which indicates they at least had high expecations for it. The only solo stuff I like by Mel B are the tunes made by Jam & Lewis ("Feels So Good" and "Feel Me Now") which, strangely, sound like Janet-session scraps.

I never heard either....just her two attempts at placing singles on the US charts without a proper CD....the soundtrack songs "Word Up" and "I Want You Back".

Geri's 'Passion' only went to #41 in the U.K. Her albums still get released in Canada for some reason.

I also liked the single "Tell Me".

She contemplated it 'in the grand scheme of things' for Live8 but - as Mel B had filming commitments - they couldn't do it. Mel C said it affected her self-image and led to depression. One titbit: the interviewer asked her about the rumoured Greatest Hits album out next year. Apparently, there are a few unreleased tracks which could be used as bonus tracks. One of them is called 'C U Next Tuesday'. I'm confused....Mel C was depressed and concerend about her image when Mel B couldn't do "Live 8"...? I love the "C U Next Tuesday" expression! But we have to wait another year for a hits compilation? That's crazy! Hi Vinny, sorry - I didn't explain that very well. Basically, Mel C said that the girls were all asked to reunite for Live8 and she was seriously considering it (I think all the girls were) but because Mel B had filming commitments in LA, they couldn't perform. However, she also stated that - apart from the Live8 gig - she had no other plans to reform as she'd suffered from depression and eating disorders during her time in the Spice Girls. Hope that clears it up. As for C U Next Tuesday... I know the girls liked to break barriers but calling a song that! Even I was shocked. She mentioned two song titles - I forget the other - and said "If the record company want to release a Greatest Hits, they will. But they'll be including two crap songs that weren't good enough to release the first time around". (Or words to that effect).

Geri, OMG. She started out quite good, with all that tongue in cheek stuff, but she does come out with some delusional quotes - "I called my album Passion because I'm so passionate about music" - *cut to clip of latest video with her on her hands and knees in front of a man, drinking milk from a bowl like a cat with it dripping down her face like it's sperm!* well, we all know where we've seen that before don't we: and true love lives on lollipops and crisps
