Mel B's new 'Song' OH MY GOD. Have any one elses earholes been abused by this dire abomination of a song? They keep playing on the Chart Show TV and now it has lodged itself firmly in my head and I feel like killing myself. What the hell is this woman thinking? She obviosly is completely off her head on crack or something to think that anyone would like this crap.
Sorry I just had to get that off my chest [Edited 7/18/05 8:16am] The Hottest chip of them all - www.hotchip.co.uk - Get down with Prince

Christ - that first single is AWFUL!
A mate and I were channel hopping the other week and came across it. We were stunned to say the least. It's actually not a bad tune; just poorly executed with a rubbish production. The video is hysterical - she's obviously meant to look as if she's sunning herself on some beach in the South of France or somewhere; it's very light and sunny. Check the force nine gale blowing through her hair and you can tell it was shot in Great Yarmouth on the cheap. At least it was sunny. And Voices - I pissed myself when I read about her new album. Apparently, it didn't even crack the Top 200 (!). The article said something like: "Just to put it in perspective, the album at #200 this week is 'Brother In Arms' by Dire Straits, an album released 20 years ago". You go girl!

Sorry, but also read an interview with Mel C on the weekend saying she'll never reunite with the Spice Girls. She contemplated it 'in the grand scheme of things' for Live8 but - as Mel B had filming commitments - they couldn't do it. Mel C said it affected her self-image and led to depression. One titbit: the interviewer asked her about the rumoured Greatest Hits album out next year. Apparently, there are a few unreleased tracks which could be used as bonus tracks. One of them is called 'C U Next Tuesday'.

It's called something like 'It's gonna happen today' it almost annoys me more than the Heather Small hurlfest 'What have you done today' that they used for the Olympic bid. (Imagine these 2 collaborating, lordy )
The scariest bits are the whispers of 'somethin'll change' - hopefully she is talking about record companies mind when they choose to release another of her songs [Edited 7/18/05 9:56am] The Hottest chip of them all - www.hotchip.co.uk - Get down with Prince

Like with Mel C, her first #1 was Never Be The Same Again, which was only good because of Left Eye. I can't believe I Turn To You made #1 though. I didn't even remember it at all but saw it listed in some chart book the other week.
Anyway, clearly the best Spice Girl solo singles are: Emma Bunton - Maybe (far and away ahead of all the rest) Geri Haliwell - Bag It Up Mel B - I Want You Back Mel C - Northern Star Victoria Beckham - Let Your Head Go

Victoria and Mel B are just plain awful and embarrassing. I quite liked 'I'm going down' By Mel C The Hottest chip of them all - www.hotchip.co.uk - Get down with Prince

Yeah, Emma sticks to her small range. I love 'What Took You So Long' aswell.
Geri, OMG. She started out quite good, with all that tongue in cheek stuff, but she does come out with some delusional quotes - "I called my album Passion because I'm so passionate about music" - *cut to clip of latest video with her on her hands and knees in front of a man, drinking milk from a bowl like a cat with it dripping down her face like it's sperm!*

Even Prince - no stranger to making odd/cryptic comments - was, like, Shakespeare lessons with Mel B.

Love it. Love it. Even at the time, though, I did think it was a bit odd Missy was working with Mel B. I wonder what Missy's posse thought when she announced she was working with one of the Spice Girls?? "Somethin'll change..."

But we have to wait another year for a hits compilation? That's crazy!

I've liked all her stuff but that one really gets me. I really like Geri, too although her second album sucked I have faith in "Passion" because of "Ride It" and to a lesser extent "Desire".
