BOOTLEGS.........yeah, i said it......

okay, ive always wondered

how the hell does bootlegs get OUT in the first place?

don't recording studios have tight security? is it one of the "yes men" recording stars have hanging around the studio that gets everything out?

im seriously trying to pinpoint who is doing the bootlegging and why isn't it stopped?

it may as well be an inside job, but i dont wanna get too deep for yall lol

There's an entire underground network that prides themselves on "the bootleg" Most do it for the name and no pay. It's much the way the graffiti artist would tag. There are many that go out of their way to contribute. It's crazy but that's a large part of it.

It's not something that can be stopped when it's this random. This is why artists will have to rethink their content and how they use it.

I personally believe that the artist or studio engineers have to be in on it. They probably take a fee and allow whomever to make copies. That's what I would do as an artist. Think about it; You only make a couple of cents on each CD and the record company takes the biggest cut. If you sell copies to bootleggers as an artist you can set your price and all that goes in your pocket along with your small percent from the label and royalties.

I'm sure that goes on as well. I only listed one thing. You, another. There are many ways this stuff get's out. Also some just duplicate once it's already released. All of these things suck. And since it only takes one person to ruin another's hard work...this will continue to happen. It's only a matter of time before artists are embedding commercials/AD's inside their media.

True but in that case it's a marketing move...and a good one. It made 50 cents. The flip side of that is when you want it to stop...and you can't make it.
